Jennifer Saint, Nikita Gill and Rosie Hewlett on stage at Waterstones Leeds.
Late post, but I LOVED hearing @nikitagill.bsky.social, Rosie Hewlett and Jennifer Saint talking all things Greek at Leeds Waterstones on Wednesday.
The fact all three are friends made the panel so much better; the way they spoke to and played off each other was a pleasure to watch.

That Β£500 includes three different medications - thankfully it seems she took the drugs and the drugs are working.
For World Book Day I'm dressing up as a man who has spent nearly Β£500 and had zero sleep to find his dog is just a little anxious.
It's World Book Day and to celebrate I've been up all night at the emergency vets with a very unwell dog.
I had lots of social posts planned for today but I may have to have my own little World Book Day tomorrow instead.

Promo slide for a book called The Disappeared by Amy Lord. The slide shows themes including dual POV, urban decay, authoritarian control, resistance, dystopian future, banned books, Orwellian narrative.
Periodic reminder that I wrote a book about an authoritarian government snatching people off the streets, banning books, restricting universities and the media. Who knew it would turn out to be quite this on the nose.
It's called The Disappeared.

Absolutely! Culture is so intertwined, especially books/music/films. If this idea was played up more, perhaps more people would read.
It was my Year 9 English Teacher teaching Of Mice and Men using Bruce Springsteen that made me want to become a writer.

Next week, STAG DANCE, will be issued with 100% less cardboard and half price. It's a new thing I'm trying, which I've been calling "paperback." Here's a little graphic I had whipped up to trial the idea.

π¨ It looks like the UK government is gearing up to upend copyright law in favour of AI companies, legalising the theft of their work.
This is despite creatives' huge protests, and despite previous proposals being roundly rejected by the public.
Please spread the word.

Started Silo - one episode and I am hooked.
It's just all so hilariously casual.
I'm currently reading Tom Sawyer and it's so funny because the plot is just Tom tricking people into painting a fence, tricking his teacher into giving him a bible, witnessing a murder, pretending to be a pirate, fancying a girl, testifying in court, looking for buried treasure.
Well deserved! Excellent books and excellent morals is an excellent combination!
