"Master Bedroom" a painting of a dog dozing on a big bed with a window in the background, by Andrew Wyeth.
The mascot and symbol to me, of Sunday. This dog and the Chat Noir poster cat are probably the best represented art pets in American homes.

Was grooving on some Hall & Oates and thought I'd go check on what the boys were up to...

I've been skimming through the book 'ProMotion: How Today's Creators Broke into Comics... and Their Advice to You!' published just under thirty years ago and from what I can tell so far, every word of advice offered by the pros then (many of whom are still pros now) still hold true.
ASM #1:
Dibs!
Lol! Probably! "Ok boss, we got the Dog's name on there whaddya want us ta put fer the the Cat?" *silence* *head scratching* "Ta hell with it ain't no one gonna notice anyhow!"
Considering the dog's name is Rover, what should be the Cat's name?
I had some of these. Never was into Elvis. No idea who got them for me or why.
Planet of the Apes Belt buckles.
Just came to post these for any Apes fans. Represent!
Alex Toth getting the last word.
Season's Greetings from Milt Caniff, (with a hat tip to @arthurwyatt.bsky.social & @kartoonistkelly.bsky.social.)
Neal Adams - 1978. Love when he drew monsters.
Outstanding news that Fantagraphics is starting a series of Attilio Micheluzzi translations! He's one of the all-time great Italian cartoonists. I have a few of his books in Italian (which I can't read, but the art & storytelling astound me).

There are a lot of things DC has never bothered with I'd love to see.
Pogo by Walt Kelly from October 18, 1959.
Jesse Hamm, 2018: "In his originals, we see Alex Toth ink underlying structural details (on the car, suits) that he later opts to black out, for lighting's sake. He draws through the structure, giving himself a framework, then puts on his "cinematographer" hat and obliterates the details as needed."
"Here, (Toth) took the trouble of inking "drama" lines around the headβ¦that he later opted to black out. All in the service of the final effect."
But I miss "drama" lines sometimes.

An old Jesse Hamm tip:
βAlex Toth was known for leaving out superfluous detail, but he did so for clarity and impact, not as an excuse to be lazy. Here, he spends considerable time & effort texturing the carpet and furniture, to better frame the figures, add variety, and establish planes of depth.β
