Trumpβs bombing of Iran is reckless and a direct threat to American and Iranian lives. Launching military strikes without congressional authorization or evidence of an imminent threat is not strength. It is an abuse of power.
Tell your Members of Congress to put an immediate stop to this war.
NEW: Several high-ranking federal election officials attended a summit last week at which prominent activists who worked to overturn Trumpβs loss in the 2020 election pressed for the president to declare a national emergency to take over the midterms.
World Leaders Fear Broader Escalation After Major US And Israeli Attack On Iran
Canβt expect a 5x draft dodger to give a single fuck about the US troops heβs sending into harms way with his senseless war hungry attacks on other countries.
I'm begging my fellow politicians, Illinoisans, and Americans to realize that right now, we aren't fighting over policy or political party.
We're fighting over whether we're going to be a country rooted in empathy and kindness β or one rooted in cruelty and rage.
A U.S. official said American military strikes on Iran were underway.
Remember when Congress authorized the use of force against Iran?
Me neither.
Any U.S. attack on Iran would violate U.S. and international law.
Hateful (which continues to be the point from this administration) when it comes to our trans siblings...
NEW: Political organizing is getting riskier under the Trump administration, so @agreenberg.bsky.social and @lhn.bsky.social wrote a comprehensive guide to doing it safely. No paywall! www.wired.com/story/how-to...
Alex Pretti "used to tell people off when they made sexist comments to female physicians. He bought me coffee when I had a really bad day as an intern...I laughed alongside him daily. He made a point to teach medical residents without judgement, but with a smile on his face and a joke."
If youβre able, here are a list of ways offer financial support to folks under siege in Mpls right now: linktr.ee/mplsmutualaid
"Pretti was a U.S. citizen, born in Illinois. Like Good, court records showed he had no criminal record and his family said he had never had any interactions with law enforcement beyond a couple of traffic tickets."

π¨BREAKING: Hours after federal immigration officers shot and killed a man in Minneapolis, Pam Bondi seized upon the incident to demand access to voter rolls, directly tying the Trump administrationβs quest for votersβ unredacted personal data to its aggressive immigration raids across the state.
He wasn't a domestic terrorist. A domestic terrorist was the Oklahoma City bomber. This was a VA nurse looking out for his neighbors.
As Donald Trump melted down on the world stage, the Pride on the Promenade display offered a hopeful counterpoint.
From Mike Norton on Twitter: Empty car sitting at the intersection of 35th and Pillsbury with its flashers on. There are these ghost cars all over Minneapolis right now from ICE snatching people out of their vehicle in the middle of the street.
This is so fucking haunting.
Minnesota shifting narrative from "rabble rousing protesters" vs "law enforcement" to "people of conscience" vs "evil regime." This is essential to defeating authoritarianism - exposing who, what & why they are by demonstrating who, what & why we are.
And MAGA knows it.

In October, ICE grabbed Maher Tarabishi.
He was a 24/7 caregiver for his disabled son Wael.
At the time of Maherβs detention, disability advocates warned that taking away Waelβs caregiver put his life at risk.
Wael died on Friday at age 30.
ICE caused his death.
They didnβt get to say goodbye.

ICE attacked an observer after they tailed a group of clergy on a spiritual pilgrimage.
Our digital producer @sam.vp just so happened to be with the clergy on their journey. He spoke with the observer who was attacked and others who witnessed the assault.
I am not being snarky. I need my colleagues who wrote on covid school lockdowns to engage with this. To be as loud as they have been about prior "learning loss." Hell, you can cite Tom & Mark's AERJ paper so you feel better that there's some econ somewhere in your argument.
Nekima Levy Armstrong and Chauntyll Allen, who were arrested and charged after a demonstration at a Minnesota church, have been released

I'm in there somewhere with so many of my friends and colleagues. We will continue to speak up, speak out, and bear witness. Ain't gonna let nobody turn us around!
Wow Franklin...you have fallen so so far. I gladly stand with my colleagues and friends, and if you don't like my friends and I, then I know beyond a shadow of a doubt we are doing the right thing.
A man was arrested for playing Darth Vader's theme music, "The Imperial March," behind National Guard troops walking through Logan Circle.
Now the ACLU is suing on his behalf. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
