So Muhammad, who believed Christianity was evil and false, is just as true as Jesus?
If youβre rage posting about Mr. Kirk, but werenβt about Mn Rep Melissa Hortman and her husband, please think seriouly about that. Also vice versa. The point is, speech is protected, and no one should die because they hold particular views, no matter how abhorrent we might find them. βοΈ
It is strange. Our media is personality obsessed.
Political violence is a sin. Period the end.
And the greater sin lies with those who foment and glorify violence. Those who tell us that violence is ok and justified.
And who does that? Not trans folks, not your average lefty and not immigrants either.

We cannot love people
with weapons in our hands.

We are horrified to learn of the shooting of Charlie Kirk. Political violence has no place in democracy. The foundation of democracy rests on the principle that differences can be debated vigorously, but peacefully, without intimidation or acts of violence.
Please pray for an end to political violence in this country and the world. Please pray that our leaders and fellow citizens would be humbled by our suffering savior to abandon weapons and embrace the cross.

If political violence is viewed as a valid tool we can use, then we aren't a democracy, or even a civilized country. Those around Christ wanted him to be a conqueror, to bring justice through force as a "martial Messiah," but he offered them something better: salvation through love and restoration.
Please pray for the repose of Charlie Kirk's soul and for his family. This is a complete tragedy. It doesn't matter whether or not you agree with his politics; he was still a human being, a husband, and a father. The person who killed him was a murderer and deserves a just punishment.
My prediction is that he'll go further right. They always do.
Collect physical media. Hoard books and cherish them. Information will never be the same after the beginning of the AI era.
I think it's sad how people's vocabularies are shrinking and getting more vulgar and simplistic.

Militarism, violence, and the obsession with public displays of power are anti-Christian.
Redeemed Zoomer's going off the deep end on Twitter. Starting to get into replacement theory stuff, anti immigrant ramblings.
Pray for him.

I'm with you. I've never understood the world and celebrities. I don't listen to her.
In the New Creation, will we be able to learn things or will we be given God's knowledge of everything in the material universe?
What's your opinion?

In other words, we (and perhaps our siblings on other planets) occupy a place in the universe different from that of all other non-ensouled life.
Everything in the universe is God's creation, I simply think humans/ensouled beings are capable of a direct connection with God that other things aren't. You could say everything was "saved" by Christ, but being saved for humans means so much more than it does for a pebble or amoeba.
I'm not sure I buy the idea that Christ has to share exactly in the genetic nature of the ones he is saving. It sort of depends on your atonement theory though. I tend to think of the resurrection as applying to the cosmos and not only to Homo Sapiens.
I'm actually writing a story about this at the moment, and my theory is that Christ's single death is sufficient for all creation. Earth would be, in a way, like the Israel of the universe. Somehow the covenant could be expanded to other species as we met them.
I think this is where βhumanβ as a theological concept just means βembodied personβ rather than βbiological Homo sapiensβ (a concept somewhat foreign to the biblical world anyway), which also makes the possibility of aliens easier too.
I think the 1# thing I want young guys my age to take to heart is that they should avoid reactionary politics of all stripes. Young people have always tended to be "creative" in their political beliefs, but I think young white men like myself really fall victim to grifters who push stupid views.
Just got out of surgery. Still a little loopy but doing okay. Everything went well, thanks be to God.

I'm so theologically conservative, I wouldn't even mind being called a conservative United Methodist, even though I'd be a liberal GMC member. We're in the same boat.
The truth is that, as difficult as some conservative positions are to accept, the "liberal churches" have abandoned much of their commitment to the gospel in the name of a bland, political Christianity bent on conforming to the world rather than transforming it.
Thanks so much. Means a lot.
Everybody, I hate to say this but I could use some prayer. I'm probably going to have to have a procedure done in the next few months. Not looking forward to it. π
Nothing dangerous, but could still use prayer.
