When my kid started using Libby he would try pretty much anything, so we listened to part of Syou Ishida's We'll Prescribe You Another Cat.
This week I borrowed the first one from the library - We'll Prescribe You a Cat.

I'm thinking of making a sweater with a couple of extra sparkly stripes.
Whoa. That is too much. I hope things go smoother soon.
That is perfect!
I have about half the skein left, so probably not enough for arm warmers. Maybe fingerless mitts, though.
I have tabs full of ideas, which is fun too.
One sock shown from the side against a fleece blue and white snowflake blanket. This shows the contrast heel and toe better. The lace on the top of the foot is visible.
A pair of feet wearing sparkly rainbow (but not striped) socks against the 2nd yuckiest beige carpet.
I finished a pair of socks, and I have enough of the sparkly sock yarn to make something else.
Now what will make me as ridiculously happy as these?
Gender expression and sexual orientation don't make people unfit to teach. This seems like a really toxic bill when it is already hard to hire teachers.
I made Mexican rice to go in our burritos, but it looks like we are out of cheese. Someone ate the last of the block of cheddar I was thinking of grating for this.
March 4, 2026. A drawing of Pusheen sleeping on a pillowy marshmallow against a pink background. Underneath it says: If I were tiny, I would sleep on a marshmallow.
It made me laugh, which is all I can ever hope for.
I'm going to be generous and think that crappy font is supposed to be an O and that we have oui, which is more in keeping with the other poorly drawn French on other hearts.
I wish more pols acted with integrity even when their positions were on the line.
That looks pretty good to me.
This post is why I just borrowed the book from Libby over my lunch break.
And I have added you to the starter pack!
Hey, sometimes the joy is just in starting something new.
Welcome back!
Yeah! I hope you had fun bringing it together.
It didn't feel big even when I moved down from Maine in the 90s.

It really is. I feel happy when I'm working with it.
Wow. You are so fast that you could finish a half before I finished a 10K.
A multicolored, sparkly ball of yarn next to a lace sock in progress. Photographed against a backdrop of black jeans. The yarn is You Belong Here from Melani's Stache. Purchased from Gather Here. The sock is Daisy Socks by Debbie Ford.
Last week I decided a light blue sweater wasn't sparking joy (I still want it, but I don't want to knit it right now). I pulled the brightest, cheeriest yarn from my stash and started a pair of socks.
Mainlining joy wherever I can find it.
That sucks! I hope you have a better solution soon!
The country crock vegan butter isn't bad (though my kid is grumpy it isn't actual butter). I would do that and steamed broccoli. For future you!
I have never been more grateful that I'm a vegetarian than when people talk about beef prices. It is hard enough paying for tofu and eggs.
Back when I lived in the Boston area I could walk from Braintree to Arlington, because I could follow the subway route or knew areas from other commutes.
Now I live in KY and I think it might be taking my life in my hands to commute the 10.3 miles to work except in the earliest/latest of hours.
This is excellent! My kid does the elliptical in order to get extra TV time and he doesn't get to 2.5 miles in an hour.
I stopped making most cookies when I realized how many hours I spent just waiting in the kitchen. Now they are a more special occasion thing.
That is a great looking sock!
Today was a solo parenting day. The kid got up at 7, and I did a load of laundry, put away some dry dishes and started the dishwasher before leaving for the office.
Maybe after he gets up tomorrow I'll vacuum.
I am 12 years out from a single pregnancy and I can still smell things unfortunately well.
