I am looking forward to attending the Digital Maturity Gap in Education workshop hosted by @techuk.bsky.social today. What are currently the biggest barriers to edtech adoption in your schools?
@daisychristo.bsky.social a leading voice in education assessment and Lord Jim Knight, an advocate for education reform, discuss how AI-driven assessments are shaping the future of learning and evaluation: community.stem.org.uk/browse/scl-od #TeamCompSci #AI #UKED #EDUSKY
Using AI to judge student writing 'has the potential to revolutionise assessment and decimate workload', say @daisychristo.bsky.social and @nomoremarking.bsky.social after their trail of the approach

It was fascinating to hear @daisychristo.bsky.social and Lord Jim Knight discuss AI and assesment in this afternoon's AI Sprint on the STEM community. The recording will be live soon but you can watch last week's here: community.stem.org.uk/browse/scl-od #edusky #teamcompsci #uked
We've been sceptical about AI marking. Not any more!

Wow! I was surprised to find my old ICTAC blogger is still live: steveclarkeictac.blogspot.com - I started thinking about it after the CAR interim report and the suggestion of AI & digital delivered across subjects. So much has changed but it was fun to look back at and a bit cringey! ##TeamCompSci
I love PRIMM! Congratulations to @suesentance.bsky.social for this recognition of her work. Thank you to Sue and all the other people out there helping to develop resources for computing CPK!

This is brilliant!
It would be wonderful to see it reinvigorate computing but there does seem to be a suggestion that at least some of this might be delivered in other subject areas. This is great in principle but hard to implement. I remember leading on ICTAC π¬ Needs to be backed up with robust CPD.
I am so proud of this programme and the amazing people have supported it over the last 6 years. #Teamcompsci
Day two of #ASCL2025 conference here in Liverpool and @pepediiasio.bsky.social draws laughs from crowd re: Ofsted.
He says the last thing edu needs is an inspection system that βintensifies pressures."
"Itβs a far cry from the Nandoβs-style five-point scale Ofsted is proposing." π
Alistair Campbell was the perfect end to a strong lineup of key notes at #ASCL2025 today. With an important and pragmatic message to the room to be strategic to get edu priorities across to government at a time where education realistically is not a top of the list for government. #UKED
A βlow-accountabilityβ #Ofsted school inspection system without grades would not be possible, Sir Martyn Oliver tells the @ascl-uk.bsky.social conference #ASCL2025
A lot of expectations rest on the shoulders of RISE advisors. I hope this is a chance to reach out to existing DfE funded programmes to help build on and connect some of the excellent support that organisations such as @stemlearning.bsky.social deliver which have significant impact #ASCL2025
Bridget Phillipson starts by asking teachers to 'step up again'. I don't think teachers ever stepped down. To step up further requires more resource, more teachers, more CPD. Programmes to support teacher training have been cut. It simply doesn't add up. #ASCL2025
Interesting to see how Bridget Phillips follows that! ##ASCL2025
A fantastic start to #ASCL2025. Calling out the real challenges in education and a humorous but robust challenge of the new Ofsted framework and other core issues.
