I lived in Maine in 2020 and Collins defeating Gideon stung. There’s nothing I‘d love more than to see Collins lose her job, but it’s hard to imagine Plattner being the guy to do it.
I have thought so often of what Democrats could have done or prevented with one additional vote these past six years.
For those who remember 2020 senate races, this feels like a Cal Cunningham situation (one man’s selfishness costing us all dearly).
What does it tell voters, who have said unequivocally we want fighters, that you sit & silently witness your own humiliation? If you will not fight for yourselves, are we to believe you will for us?

I wrote to an editor there about something in an article of theirs that was factually inaccurate and they replied and basically say "meh, that's not how we see it. chill out."
It's unchartered, but we can see the terrain: the territory ahead includes masked secret police taking people to concentration camps but not new vaccines. That's our reward for a system in which fewer than 20 people, all of them deranged and malicious, control over $3 trillion.

Same for me. I switched to mailbox.org a year ago. Google is “free” because the user is the product. I’m happy to pay now to not have my data sold over and over again across the internet.
