Its not an issue, just perceived to be. Its not fun, thats for sure but procedure its fine and better for the event as a whole. There were 5+ events over 60+ people in the last 2 weeks that you didnt hear from that had 3 pods. 🤷♂️
Nah. People need their points for wins. This has been tried and true for years now.
Some TOs will do a 1 bye threshold if the player count makes sense, but wins are so valuable it wouldn't be fair to someone with a bye in their matches to make top cut.

Yeah the etali/tivits all hate 3 pods. We run our events with no byes too.
Which intrinsically makes those "need 4 player" decks to be slightly at a disadvantage and as the day goes on the grump bracket gets more and more likely to be 3s with drops etc.

Byes are way more valuable in these events as they are worth 5 points over 4/5 rounds which is VERY beneficial. 3 pods are the usual if you'd be giving out 3+ byes a round

It's fine to ask questions and demand clarity in these situations. It really crosses a line when we are dragging someone who clearly is aligned with progressives values for not doing research on who was who at a draft night he was casually invited to. There are much bigger fish my friends. 3/3
