There's only one line on more contemporary work that queries the Eurocentric world view - work which unpacks and eviscerates colonialism, gender, white supremacy, etc - is dismissed as culture wars. Which I feel is how white intellectuals frequently dismiss critiques of their canon.
On the face of it, this review of a collection of academic writing represents a very learned, intellectual elite perspective. Yet the mounful undertone regarding the end of European intellectual celebration feels very much like posh highbrow MAGA.

Although this post above also reminds me that this is why I quit social media. These small moments of outrage pile up every day, and you're frequently feeling irritated, angry or anxious without truly knowing why. And there's never any shortage of things to outrage about.
Read the story to confirm, but this is 'offensive' only because it shows an obviously Muslim man endorsing the burning of notes. Replace him with a crypto-bro and no one would have batted an eyelid.
