Amerika er tabt 🤷🤡
If Donald asks Zelensky for anti drone systems, he better wear a suit, ask nicely and say thank you.
Allies do not use trade threats.
The EU is a single union: an attack on one Member State is an attack on all of us.
Our strength lies in our unity 🇪🇺🇪🇦
The first confirmed fatalities in Trump's illegal War on Iran:
Captain Cody A. Khork, 35, of Winter Haven, FA
Sergeant First Class Noah L. Tietjens, 42, of Bellevue, NE
Sergeant First Class Nicole M. Amor, 39, of White Bear Lake, MN
Sergeant Declan J. Coady, 20, of West Des Moines, IA
This “it’s not a war but a special military operation” is very Kremlin March 2022. As is the propaganda that we are not starting a war but ending one. As is the confusion of oligarch media as it tries to be faithful in the confusion…
Can I ask why they don't allow that?

Maybe ChatGPT is some iterations ahead. Admittedly I mostly use it as an idea generation tool and as an IT helpdesk. On my part I'm getting pretty similar results.

Ukraine is the biggest and most consequential of all the American betrayals
As the war enters its fifth year, it’s time for Europe to take the fight to Putin on its own terms and tell Trump to get lost
Agree with almost all the takes on MSC. It felt like Davos was the shock, MSC was the hangover. Administration sought to tone down European outrage. It didn't work. And yet...
Europe increasingly has a NATO problem. There is no effort to prepare for war without the US. But...1/
The Rubio speech was not a detente.
It was the JD Vance message delivered with velvet rather than boxing gloves (h/t @fbermingham.bsky.social)
He signalled 0 actionable compromises to the EU other than implicitly asking Europe to close its borders / round up migrants (and then the US offers what?)
Taken together, the trajectory of their development suggests that Ukraine may soon be able to neutralize one of the biggest threats to its security: the swarms of Russian drones that continue to terrorize its civilians and destroy its infrastructure. www.theatlantic.com/national-sec...
You fool us once, but not twice.
In international trade, the EU is far more important than the US (which idiot Trump undoubtedly is unaware of).
It is time for the EU to use all its force in international trade, as President Macron has advocated. /4
The EU needs to put down its foot and tell US chief idiot Trump that his behavior is unacceptable so the EU has to impose reciprocal trade penalties as well as asymmetric punishments for US companies' violations of EU laws, such as the Digital Services Act. /3
On February 7, EU tariffs on €93 billion of imports from the US will be imposed unless the EU dismiss them.
Let them come through. With repeated threats of new tariffs, Trump has shown himself completely unreliable, so the EU should let its machinery work. /2
Screengrabs from Twitter: The problem isn't Trump. The problem is the US. When the outside world observes Trump's insane behaviour and his threats against allies, and we at the same time observe that there is no real action from the US public, Congress, the US Supreme Court, or the US media about this insanity, we will all have to conclude that the US accepts this behaviour. The public in the US think the US is entitled to a certain position in the world where there is no room for decent behaviour and where there are no norms and rules. That means that we all have to conclude that the US — not only Trump — has betrayed the international order that the US, with its Western partners, were the main architects of after the Second World War. This is the conclusion that Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney so clearly laid out in his speech at Davos yesterday. We simply cannot trust the US to play by the rules any more. Therefore, we also fundamentally have to ask ourselves — should we trust the financial and economic structure which is an integral part of the global rules-based order? Americans live in the illusion that the US can do everything on its own, despite the fact that the US for nearly 20 years has lived beyond its means. US private and government consumption has been funded by, among others, European central banks and pension funds. But we now have to ask ourselves — why would we trade in dollars? Why would we put our savings into US Treasury bonds? If the US is not a rules-based society, we cannot trust the dollar to be a stable currency, and it would be insane to hold dollars. As domestic US institutions are eroded and governance structures destroyed, the US will be turned into an emerging market economy — or more accurately, a de-merging economy.
If the US threatens the territory of allies, then the US acts as an authoritarian bully nation. Nobody in their right mind would lend money to the US government. If the US doesn't live up to its international obligations and respect the sovereignty of other nations, why would we expect the US government to honour its debts? If Trump can tariff nations that will not give up their territory, then there is certainly no reason to believe that the US will not introduce capital controls. And if that is a risk, why would you risk investing in the US? It is not a question about Europe standing up to the US. It is a question about being prudent with our investments — about reducing risks. Every day Trump remains in office, distrust of the US increases, and the cost for the US will go up day by day. And this is irreversible. It takes years to build trust, but you can destroy it by your actions in minutes. Europe has now completely lost trust in the US. And so has Canada. It is up to the people of the US to demonstrate that Trump is an 'outlier', and it is up to the American people to stop him. If you don't do that, we will have to assume that this is what the US is about — whether the name of the President is Trump or something else, whether the President is a Republican or a Democrat.

Great post from the hellsite by @mamomvpy.bsky.social
I recommend anyone who is thinking about what is happening to our democracies and conversations to read this thread.

Trump questioning if we would help despite easily proving that we did and then even belittling it (They stayed a little back, little off the frontlines) is the most shameless and disgusting statement in that reference that deranged and dishonorable draft-dodger could utter.
The USA were the only country that invoked NATO article 5 after 9/11. Every NATO nation came to help in Afghanistan. 1,144 NATO soldiers, among them 60 Germans, died during this war.
"The wait and see approach is no longer a strategy. It is a recipe for perpetual vassalage. The Greenland crisis is not just bad weather. It is a structural shift. European leaders must use this crisis as the necessary political catalyst to further the continent’s own sovereign defenses."
Geopolitical shocks can - and must - be an opportunity for Europe.
The seismic shift underway makes it both possible & necessary to build a new European independence.
From security to the economy.
From defence to democracy.
Europe is gathering speed.
