I'm pretty happy with the pivot I've been making to AI embeded workflows, if anything it's reinforced where my skills are most useful. The part I dislike the most is reviewing AI generated code from others, who I know can do better themselves

Having to dash from #SotB26 to resume adulting, gutted that I couldn't attend the whole day or drinks but just half a day is so inspiring and educational
Caught most of #sotb26 on the live stream, and now plans are back on track it's a race against the clock to make the afternoon sessions.
I've been using the inert attribute for a lot of what I was using aria-hidden for, do you know if I could use inert instead of aria-hidden in this circumstance too?
It's the day after Caerphilly again ๐
I look forward to the blog post following this blog post explaining how to make animated, accessibile data visualisation charts
They won't get their deposit back ๐คฃ, but tories have always loved wasting money, not usually their own though
Any timeline on when the early access will open up to non react projects?
Never liked the separate input approach, date maths is a nightmare. The ui to tell user's they've picked an incorrect date because leap years are every 4 years except skip 100 years unless it's divisible by 400.
I lived in London for years without issue, unlike growing up in Merthyr ๐
Guess it's a similar side effect to accessibility bringing seo benefits along with it.
I'm using web components a lot more, and that's throwing up unexpected a11y challenges. Such as trying to use a slot in a list doesn't announce the right number of "slides" in nvda but does on talkback ๐คทโโ๏ธ
My daughter, without pause, knew it was Litleo. Ai won't be replacing her future pokemon trainer career
Great article. The complaince โ accessible experience does seem to be getting more traction, and something I'm trying to make clear in my work. Really looking forward to Chad Gowler's talk on the same subject at SOTB2026 2026.stateofthebrowser.com/speaker/chad...
Picture of me, in my office's coffee lounge. I'm wearing a "goodbye internet explorer" party hat, sat behind an internet explorer logo cake with cupcakes around it spelling goodbye. It was in celebration of internet explorer being discontinued
Yum. It looks more feature rich than the last browser themed cake I made
Easily done. My wife once won a "year" supply of mcvitie dark chocolate digestives. It did not last a year
Module loading css, encapsulation in shadow dom goes a long way, but would love to be able to ise dynamic imports in a way we do with js
Does it count if all the words have their spaces removed? Manic street preachers - ifwhiteamericatoldthetruthforonedayitsworldwouldfallapart. Even more relevant today than when it was first written
I encourage grid first use in teams I'm working in, it's much more scaleable and performant than flexbox. I think there's a lot to learn, but I often find I'm using the same few props. Template rows/columns with grid areas and a handful of units does 99% of my layout.
Yep did so yesterday too. Did the same for plaid in the recent senedd by election. Small donations can make a difference when teamed with a proactive, sincere party embeded in their communities instead of being at the beck and call of their major donors
Going for a second time because the quality of speakers is world leading in a setting that feels quite homely. The take away knowledge and energy I had from last year really invigorated my passion for the web
A tuxedo cat and black cat lying on a grey sofa
You have my cats!
I was up there recently, was great! So rare to go somewhere in the uk and hear people proud of their past and optimistic about their city's future.
Five different combinations of cheese oncrackers topped with a mix of pickles and chitneys on a plate in front of a christmas tree
Yeah turkey is tasty but the true Christmas food headliner is cheese
๐ฑ sounds horrific! Hope the recovery is quick and it hasn't put you off delicious turkey
Two real, black cats loafing on a grey sofa, behind them is a toy plush black cat dressed like an elf
Merry Catmas eve!
It's a christmas miracle!
You're smashing it Jake, loving the new content and you're just what Firefox needs
