Really can’t understate how much I love Jason Aaron’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles run so far.
Really can’t understate how much I love Jason Aaron’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles run so far.
Picked this up today and stoked to read it!
Not usually a Superman guy, but the @dc.com panel at #C2E2 Saturday sold me on the Summer of Superman. Panel recap should be up on @monkeysrobots.bsky.social in next few days.
In the meantime, can’t wait to read this later @danslott.bsky.social @markwaid.bsky.social @joshuawilliamson.bsky.social
Still really loving @gerryduggan.bsky.social & Danny Kim’s West Coast Avengers, too. Lot of good interplay between an eclectic cast of characters.
Favorite issue of @jedmackay.bsky.social’s #XMen run so far. Stellar writing, and @nethodiaz.bsky.social absolutely nailed the art.
Stan Lee and Jack Kirby cameo in X-Men 98 (April 1976)
It’s a Monster Squad kind of night. #wolfmansgotnards
As a huge Dracula mark, all I have to say is…
Just because I like Spider-Man doesn’t mean I want a Spider-Man-less film universe detached from the broader Spider-Man films (which already have their own issues), in which villains & other side characters are flimsily stretched into being protagonists in boilerplate plots with shaky logic. 🤷🏼♂️
Madame Web, Kraven, etc. didn’t flop because press unjustly crucified them — they failed because fans didn’t want them, they were transparently exec attempts to grasp at milking every last dime from a cash-cow IP regardless of quality & they were roasted accordingly.

@yayforzig.bsky.social was cooking with these Black Panther lines in Miles Morales: Spider-Man #27.
Every time I rewatch Star Wars is an opportunity to remember that, in 2016, Carrie Fisher told me I was adorable and rubbed glitter all over my face and neck before signing my blu ray set.
Tried to fix the blu-ray drive on my surround sound system tonight, but cleaning the laser lens didn’t end up working. All things considered, 15 years is a pretty decent amount of time to have gotten out of something used as heavily as this was.
🤌🏼
I hate when that happens!
Along with West Coast Avengers, other comics I enjoyed this week…

Update: Highly recommend West Coast Avengers.
@gerryduggan.bsky.social
Really stoked for this new West Coast Avengers from @gerryduggan.bsky.social & Danny Kim
Some of this stuff reads differently when you consider that roughly 18 years later, Marvel would publish a story arc where the Lizard eats his wife and son. They get brought back via the miracles of cloning a few years later, though. (Amazing Spider-Man 365, August 1992)
This issue’s primary subplot is part of the build for one of my least favorite Spider-Man stories of the ‘90s: The “return” of Peter Parker’s parents, who ultimately turn out a few years later to be androids created by then-recently-deceased (but not really) Harry Osborn to mess with Peter.
It’d be kinda cool if Marvel could replicate the ‘90s hologram covers in omnibuses rather than just having a static image. The four 30th anniversary covers for Amazing, Spectacular, Web of, and adjectiveless Spider-Man are some of the earliest comics I got as a kid in the ‘90s.
I def had one of him when I was a kid
Can’t beat a new comic book day that has TWO @saladinahmed.bsky.social books!
Literally missed the entire fight waiting for Netflix to buffer. 😂
It’s wild how much Netflix is struggling to handle this Tyson vs Paul fight. My connection speed is close to 200 mbps right now and the app is still trying to tell me I need to check my internet.
BUT WHERE IS REK-RAP?!
