Yes, this is true.
Someone reassure me that the Alberta separatists are a minority, and even though I read the legal documents of how separation works, it will not happen. I am an anxious bean.
Legally, I know it would be extremely difficult. Logically, I know it is a minority. I still feel fear though, but I will fucking fight against the separatists.
The House of Commons as well who has a good portion of NDP, as well other provinces agreeing with the change to the constitution. (I read a whole legal document about this). It is not as easy as having the referendum votes.
Someone tell me this can not actually happen. I am a little anxious.
Correction: I know that it is unlikely they would win a change for the constitution because it would have to go through the House of Commons, and all that jazz.
Part of me is scared that more people will vote for the separation. I know how the process works, so I know it is unlikely, but it still causes my anxiety to spike.
