I'm reliably informed this is a 3 Cy bird, or 2nd winter as we used to describe them. Fascinating birds gulls, with their varying plumage phases before reaching adulthood, worth studying though. Thanks to @tg42birder.bsky.social for the advice. One is always learning. #norfolkbirding

Thanks, its been consistently reported as a 2cy, but I'll happily accept your view. Whatever its a superb bird and a plummage I haven't seen before.

Grey Seal emerging from the sea

As well as the Gulls there were several hundred Grey Seals on the beach for their annual moult. Note photo taken with a telephoto lens, I kept my distance and didn't disturb them. #Mammals #Wildlife

Had an excellent day on the NE Norfolk coast today, watching seals and gulls. Good to see this brute of a 2Cy Glaucous Gull plus another "white winger" an Iceland Gull. Also saw a Caspian Gull which was camera shy! #Birds #NorfolkBirds

Five pages of the report layered on top of each other. Featuring text, illustrations and photographs on a dark green background.

The bird report that I’ve been writing about my #patchbirding is now out!

It includes many months of research, writing, illustrations, and photographs from the local community too. It is free to look through and I hope a nice read even for those not local 🐦

Hoping the Forster's Tern stays long enough to photograph it in sunshine - but still a treat to see at such close quarters today after adding it to the bike list earlier in the week for the 3rd year in 4 @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social @harbourbirds.bsky.social

Our oldest Monks Wood Marsh Tit has survived his 11th winter, and is singing again on his territory, 40 m from where he was colour-ringed in 2015. He's been widowed again so is advertising for a new female. He's probably in the top 5 oldest Marsh Tits recorded in Britain. #ukbirding #ornithology

Remember, get only your February scores and highlights in by 8pm tomorrow evening so they can be downloaded for the February review! After this, you can start to add in your March results.

If you have any pictures for possible usage that aren't connected to a #patchbirding hashtag, post them below

Saw this gorgeous Firecrest in a wander around the forest yesterday. Not especially rare but often difficult to see as they hardly keep still! Brambling, Yellowhammer also seen, but no Hawfinch or Goshawk. #Birds

The frog frenzy has abated but the first Common Toads of the year have now arrived and are sharing the ponds with a satisfyingly large number of Smooth Newts. So pleased to see high numbers of amphibians after last summer's prolonged drought...

Given that the UK voters, who lets face it, are reluctant to elect even a slightly left leaning Labour Party, what makes you think they are going to vote in a party with an openly socialist agenda? Under the FPTP voting system they have no hope unfortunately.
