Yes! It's called "The Green Marauder" - just a few pages but very memorable. larryniven.net?q=bibliograp...

The full name, Eric "The Fiddler" Borance, was changed just before shooting.
.NET STS releases are now supported for 2 years instead of 18 months starting with .NET 9 (the current STS). STS releases now go out-of-support on the same day as the previous LTS release. Upgrading to an STS release will no longer cause you to lose support!

Beautiful shell output
TIL you can pipe raw markdown to `python -m rich.markdown -` and it'll render it beautifully on the command line

🧠 Using SQL Server 2025 Vector Search in .NET Aspire – eShopLite Style!
Introduction SQL Server 2025 is super cool 😎 — and naturally, I had to test out the brand-new vector capabilities! If you haven’t checked it out yet, start here:🔗 To explore these features, I leaned into one of my favorite…
That was awesome!

The skywatch account lists
The maga list
The block accounts button
Bluesky is not twitter because we block losers before we even see their sad attention seeking. Think of it as vaccinating your account. Here’s an example:
1. Go to @skywatch.blue
2. Tap Lists and scroll down to MAGA
3. Tap subscribe & then block accounts.
4. All the magas now rot on the vine
I'm thinking either fomeé or fomeaba.
For me, this would be a lot more compelling with a small display. I looked at the Halliday and Even Realities glasses, but they weren't (reliably) covered by vision care. I spent a while evaluating and figured things will change a lot in a year (which is now already half-way completed, so yeah).
I got some Meta Ray-Ban glasses this year, covered under my annual vision care allowance, which surprised me. They're okay for taking pictures without the distraction of a phone, and the AI "How healthy is the meal I'm looking at" or "Translate this street sign" stuff, but not life changing.
Charlie Wilson's War is one of the few movies I wish had been made during the modern miniseries era.
We're going to be talking about the new support in .NET 10 to directly run a .cs (C#) file without a project on the Languages & Runtime Community Stand-up this morning! Come ask your questions 😁

Ahmad on stage showing a slide titled ”Building a layout” where the feature gap between Figma and modern CSS is visualized in two differently sized circles which contain keywords of different technological features. Text between both circle: “The gap is getting bigger year by year.”
So, so true. The gap between design tools and the possibilities of the CSS based web platform is
getting bigger year by year. @ishadeed.com at #cssday. (Reminds me of @matthiasott.com‘s talk last year cssday.nl/2024/#matthias)
I just recently learned that winget export will include any installed programs, don't have to be installed via winget. You might want to delete some, but it worked pretty well using my dev laptop as source and a new devbox as destination.
Also great to use winget export / winget import to copy from an old machine to a new one. Used that last week setting up a devbox.
