Very much looking forward to this conference in Innsbruck next week! I am going to talk about concepts and experiences of (un)freedom and strategies of escaping imprisonment in 18th century Habsburg workhouses.

All early modern historians should use microfilm readers regularly, just to understand the very early modern sensation that there is a higher power and it is actively trying to punish you.
