Almost half of Premier League fans want a direct-to-fans broadcast service for games The debate about a "Premflix" channel (terrible name, my fault) has raged for five years, and been mooted for much longer. It's resurfaced, and isn't going away soon.

Re-upping this from March last year after confirmation the Premier League will start a direct to fans TV offer, initially in Singapore, which I first reported on in 2020 just before the Pandemic ruined it that time around

The miracle of BodΓΈ/Glimt & what Scottish clubs can learn from a fellow small nation Scotland and Norway have populations of about 5.5m people, and long football histories and deep passion for the game. Why does one punch way above its weight?

Bodo/Glimt produced one of the biggest upsets in Champions League history as they knocked out last year's finalists Inter to reach the last 16 for the first time. Piece from last September about the secrets of their success

The most extraordinary result in the Champions League tonight was BodΓΈ/Glimt 3 Inter 1. I wrote about the miracle of BodΓΈ back in September sportingintelligence832.substack.com/p/the-miracl...

"Ted Lasso is one of my favourite TV shows. But the case for Season 4? I'm not so sure." It was the sleeper hit of 2020 about a folksy coach handed a chance in a sport alien to him. It was wildly popular and ran its course over three seasons. But now there's more

Chatted to someone recently about Ted Lasso, a show I (almost) unreservedly loved that returns with season 4 this year. It polarised opinion. Last year I wrote 2,000 (mostly) paywalled words about it. After my recent chat, I've un-paywalled it:

Southampton's miracle win at Leicester after trailing 3-0 at H-T: a historical perspective On Tuesday, Southampton went to Leicester for a Championship match and were 3-0 down at half-time. But they won 4-3. It was utterly extraordinary, and here's why

Saints are only 140 years old and already they've won a match from 3-0 down. There's now a whole piece about this, including stats for all the clubs currently in England's top two divisions. Such comebacks are EXTREMELY rare, for anyone.

Proving to be the most popular read of 2026 so far, with all the engagement you'd expect from Man City fans especially, taking the time and effort to tell me how much they don't care about this AT ALL.

31.01.2026 14:26 πŸ‘ 12 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

So many Man City fans seem to think the 115 case is the first time they've been accused of financial misconduct and don't recall multiple previous cases and €90m of fines, later reduced to "only" €30m. Hope this Q&A refreshes memories

It's all answered in the piece Miko - although the FA have nothing to do with the case, as I'm sure you know.

We don't need to rehash the case against Infantino but he sucked up to warmonger Putin, massively, ignoring obvious state doping; fell in love with human-rights abusing Qatar and Saudi, for cash; and has spent a year and more up the rectum of Trump.

From the company he keeps to his disregard for football, Infantino is worse than Blatter Sepp Blatter oversaw some terrible misconduct and was far from perfect. But he asked world leaders: "What can you do for football?". Infantino asks what HE can do for THEM.

Infantino isn't just a worse FIFA president than Blatter (sportingintelligence832.substack.com/p/from-the-c...), he's an abysmal human. His continued obsequious behaviour towards a demented, dangerous clown like Trump is woeful. A "board of peace" with Putin, OrbΓ‘n and Lukashenko is an utter farce.

I would imagine they would have stopped some of the more egregious stuff, like Mancini's two contracts. Did Pep have two too? City would never answer that question but my hunch is he probably did at the start but doesn't now. We really can't know, and City won't engage to answer.
