I was in a 2 hour briefing today on the Iran War. All the briefings are closed, because Trump can't defend this war in public.

I obviously can't disclose classified info, but you deserve to know how incoherent and incomplete these war plans are.

1/ Here's what I can share:

Consistent Braves mainstay Teheran announces retirement NORTH PORT, Fla. -- Three Hall of Famers made more Opening Day starts for the Braves. But throughout the franchise’s long, illustrious pitching-rich history nobody started more consecutive season open...

Teheran was so tired of the attacks, he retired. It was his unconditional surrender.

There are some people on this site who see Trump as a reason to hate their country. But I hate Trump because I love my country.

for one thing Iran has to live with its neighbors as well as the United States, and this inflicts a lot more pain on its neighbors than on the United States.

a tan long-haired dachshund with incredibly floofy ears sits with his front paws on a window sill and his nose pressed up against the window. he's accompanied by his stuffed squirrel friend. their reflections stares back at them. Stevie the dachshund does not see the irony in watching for squirrels with his squirrel friend. he's too busy being locked in on the happenings outside his window.

This is Stevie. He's on squirrel watch. His stuffed friend is also a squirrel, but he's one of the good ones. 14/10 (IG: longdogstevie)

Trump said we were going to war to demand that Iran turn over all their enriched uranium to us, and we also demanded regime change where Trump would choose the new leader. Now Trump is apparently declaring victory after accomplishing none of that.

Things look grim in the markets right now, but at least the U.S. economy wasn’t already being propped up by a massive speculative AI bubble that is highly sensitive to rising energy costs.

TUCKER: “I flew to DC 3x to try to talk Trump out of going to war with Iran… Then I told him to take killing an 86yo cleric and call it a win… He’s watching Fox and getting fake polls that tell him this is a 90-10 issue. There’s an info vacuum.”

Operational Excellence, Strategic Incompetence The president is pointing to the American military’s excellence as though that somehow constitutes a strategy in itself.

"As the old saying warns: If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will get you there."

@radiofreetom.bsky.social keeps asking the one key question.

1. Military art makes an important distinction between TACTICS and STRATEGY. It would be helpful if an awareness of these terms and the difference between them played a bigger role in public discussion.

We can throw another $500,000,000,000 at the Pentagon this year and spend $1,000,000,000/day on a wholly useless war, but we can't afford to hire doctors and nurses to take care of our veterans? The United States is such an irresponsible, messed up country right now.

My ICQ UIN is 7231680. That number is burned into my consciousness. I inadvertently learned that you could see private conversations in public chat rooms when using Telnet instead of a browser on GeoCities. I can tell you the difference in audible dial-up handshakes between 1200, 2400, 14.4 kbps modems. I needed a edu email address to join Facebook after my university was admitted. We were here at the beginning. We made social media. You wouldn't be in my Top 8. I have usernames older than you.

This is among the reasons why you don’t cut the experts out of the decision-making process. But I guess thinking through the consequences of one’s actions is woke or something now.

Tillis: You decided to kill that dog because you had not invested the appropriate time in training it, and then you have the audacity to say it’s a leadership lesson. You killed a goat and said it was behaving badly. You’re a farmer — you don’t castrate a goat, they behave badly.
