Vetting is a lot of work. I hope people donโt get mad that Iโm taking too long ๐
Text: WEEKNIGHT WELLNESS: FEELING ANXIOUS? OVERWHELMED? TIME TO GET IN TOUCH WITH THE RIGHT SIDE OF YOUR BRAIN With all the Armageddon-like events going on in the world at the moment, (fires, droughts, floods, viruses), many Gippslanders are feeling anxious and emotionally drained. Last week we spoke with Mallacoota based 3MGB radio presenter, emergency co-ordinator and former psych nurse Francesca Winterson, who shared some suggestions on managing feelings of anxiety and feelings of being 'overwhelmed' in these uncertain times. Here are the tips she shared with us... 1. Pinpoint the specific trauma directly affecting you. Isolate any recurring feelings, break them down and understand what is specifically bothering you. 2. Switch off the News avoid negative spiral conversations on Social Media. Play music instead. 2. Switch into right brain mode, by doing something creative. Adrenalin can have your parasympathetic nervous system jumping up and down, so right brain activities will help your adrenaline settle down.
Text: 'It's the left side of the brain that is panicking and saying OMG its the end of the world!!', says Francesca.'The right side of the brain is where you listen to music, your creativity, your drawing, your colouring in, your gardening, your walking on the beach- stimulate the right side of the brain and let the left settle'. 3. Breathe in for 6 counts, exhale for 6 counts until your para-sympathetic nervous system settles. 4. Circadian rhythms and sleep. Put yourself in a strict sleeping, eating and exercise routine, as you would with an infant. Yes... that means dim lights, bath time an hour or so before sleep to calm yourself down. Some people say that a glass of wine, or taking magnesium helps them sleep better. Find what works for you and stick to a routine. 5. Mindful Meditations: Vacuuming or cleaning the house, staring at an ant colony crawling through the grass, studying nature....find something innocuous to focus on for a few minutes (if you're not the meditating type!) "One of the things that I do, is that I get down to the beach, I look at the waves and watch the frilled petticoats coming in of the edge of the sand. I listen to the sea, I smell the sea and really feel the sea lapping my feet', says Francesca.
Text: Observing nature, clouds, weather, birds, green shoots, budding flowers etc can help your body and mind calm from continuous thought patterns. See things for what they truly are in that moment. 'Another technique to try is to find three things ie. a book, a candle and a flower. Don't look at anything else but the three things and block out everything around them for as long as you can-this helps to activate the right side of the brain!' 6. Surround yourself with positive and supporting people. Use social media to be constructive, not destructive. Find something beautiful to post if you must, to spread good feelings to others. Threads is kinder and more community-oriented. Bluesky has all the bells and whistles.
I thought I didnโt like cats.
I was so stupid ๐

Honestly, Russia sucks.
Husband and I just decided to figure out a way to work from home, then move right next to the silos. Mmm. Exquisite.
I think itโs very funny that Putin is afraid of being nuked. Like, being instantly atomized a very lucky way to go.
If you and both of your parents are warm and safe, thatโs a win.
You alright?
Report as a terrorist account #NAFO. Wagner is a designated terrorist group. It will be suspended.

Thanks. Done.
Just read my doctorโs notes regarding my visit. Iโve never done that before. Did you know that I am pleasant and show good judgment? I am so pleased with myself itโs stupid.
Also, this exists.
โHave we gone too far?โ
Yikes
I hope George Clooney is happy with himself. And thatโs all I have to say about it.

Thank you for following (or the follow-back)! I take my time vetting profiles before following back, so it might take a while.
Perfectly! Pruned! ๐ณ
No vatniks, no gopniks.
No doomniks, no trashniks.
Nudniks will be considered on their individual merits.
I have seen Ukrainians say this about the game
"Make sure to buy it on GOG.com not Steam. Steam does business with Russia. DRM free on GOG and more money goes to the dev team. BTW members of the dev team have fought in combat against Russia."
Everything else aside, the nudnik thinks he looks good ๐
Iโve done well. Locked up tight. Letโs celebrate with a bowl of mashed potatoes from the garden.
Iโve spent the day blocking all known news sites and papers, talking heads, correspondents & contributors. I will claim my peace. They have nothing to say to me.
I'm just saying.
Don't talk about Nukes so much when your population density looks like this.
