Norway, and many other countries, have done this very successfully. Norway's sovereign wealth fund now stands at $3 tril Cdn. You read that right. It contributes over $60 bil Cdn annually to government coffers. Not bad for a country of 5.5 million people. We don't have to be the stupid country.

Seth, however, failed to also mention the creation of a sovereign wealth fund so I will mention it here. A wealth fund NEEDS to be created in conjunction with the creation of crown corporations so there exists a vehicle for crown corporation profits to be deposited in.

@sethdklein.bsky.social is absolutely right. Canada and the provinces need to get back into the business of business. Profitable crown corporations have been sold off to private interests at an alarming rate stripping the government of much needed revenue.

We need to do the same thing in Canada.
