Nono, Gimp lets to save files with .xcf and .png with how many layers your heart desires. It's a bit easier and you don’t have to worry about accidentally deleting stuff. Still, Gimp can be a bit tedious to make pixelart with because you have to use the square tool selection and then fill it😪

I am! I'm still learning the mechanics of the programm, but it's clear that it was made with pixelart in mind obv (unlike gimp, my GOAT).
Anyway, the fact that you have to merge down all layers into one to being able to save the file with .png makes my mouth foam.
