Did my teaching practice term at Colchester Royal Grammar School in 1973. An alleged IRA bomb alert was a highlight. I still suspect one of the pupils had phoned it in. We evacuated the building and a large group of them shouted βBang!β at the time the bomb was supposed to explode.
And no-one can ask whether this was the only occasion when a Faculty was granted for the installation of artillery.
Wonβt that encourage people to risk the Channel crossing in the hope of being turned down& sent home with Β£40,000? Or does it only apply to applicants already here?
