It's become our cinema tradition & Jo & Adam have put up all of the cinema's Christmas trees in #Billericay Library.
A slightly different "Santa's Grotto" arrangement this year the Library has arranged for the Big Man himself to appear at some point...
It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas !!
Our very first film at #Billericay Community Cinema in 2015 featured the "Men in Black". Our 100th Film Thursday in January goes "Back to Black" with Amy!
If only we'd planned this!
We encourage guests to suggest films - and a shortlist is voted on by our guests to decide what we show. We're not a multiplex. We're actually far more. We're community. We're friendship. We're local, affordable - and we have the most amazing Volunteers who always provide the warmest of welcomes.
Any profits are donated to local community groups and charities. We sponsor the Billericay Good Companions Club (who focus on alleviating social isolation amongst the elderly) - and at each film our guests vote how we split 50% of any money amongst 3 community groups which change every 6 months
"Sunday Matinee" is open to all, but aimed at those who fancy some company on a Sunday afternoon. A cuppa, a slice of cake, a natter and a film ... what's not to like? We've a number of people who've made friends at our films and now come as a group.
So what's a "community cinema"? It's a cinema that is entirely volunteer-run on a not-for-profit basis. We've been going since 2014 & run 2 films a month. Film Thursday's an evening film. We offer a range of competitively priced refreshments inc. Billericay Brewing Co beer & themed cocktail (£3.50!)
