Reddit finally showing the "News" feed on web? Slight delay after years of having it on iOS since 2018. Helpful though.

had a death in the family and was almost completely off the internet for a few days & my observation is that there is too much happening too fast such that basic facts abt the world are difficult to ascertain unless you are mainlining info all the time & doing that seems to drive people insane

I get why/that people say this, but dont' underestimate this:
all other social networks are invested in making sure that posts that link to journalism remain buried, or at least never go viral.
BlueSky doesn't do that. That makes it very valuable to a ton of newsrooms righ tnow.
I first rode a Tesla Model 3 a few years back, and it was one for the most disappointing car rides in my life.
Noisy, plasticky, unsatisfying.
It took me by surprise to be honest.
The entire millennial identity is being prepared and groomed for a version of the world that stopped existing by the time we reached it
we slammed into a horizon painted on a brick wall like fucking looney tunes
The world could be such a nice place if we allowed it. It's all so goddamn unnecessary. There's no need for any of it. It's so beautiful here. It should be so cool to be alive
Real bad day for people who canβt conceive of being upset with different people to different degrees

Can't fuckin' believe I'm doing this but here goes: Twitter is a mind prison, a true jail of career advancement. I stopped posting on there and within months I became the CEO of The Onion and I'm not kidding. Went back on last year, felt worse, then left again.
it is deeply unfortunate that so many of our best thinkers are now at the mercy of their ability to sell their ideas through video in order to reach the widest audience, and I do not see any signs that the trend is going to reverse
this is how people want to consume content now
It really is fascinating how overt it now is that there are certain - really not controversial - ideas that you arenβt allowed to say on television.
So, let me get this straight.
The businesses passed the costs of tariffs on to the consumers, but businesses want a refund for the tariffs?

The cover-up just never ends. Rest in peace, Ruben Ray Martinez.
Amazonβs cloud unit has suffered at least two outages due to errors involving its own Al tools, leading some employees to raise doubts about the US tech giantβs push to roll out these coding assistants. Amazon Web Services experienced a 13-hour interruption to one system used by its customers in mid-December after engineers allowed its Kiro AI coding tool to make certain changes, according to four people familiar with the matter. The people said the agentic tool, which can take autonomous actions on behalf of users, determined that the best course of action was to βdelete and recreate the environmentβ.
