Best ratio I've seen on this platform
More than a century later, science is still scratching at the surface of inactivation and all that it entails.
You need to get out more, albeit not to pee
A lot of XXYs describe themselves as a Klinefelter, and most don't actually realise they are describing themselves as a disease.
Sex chromosome variations describe populations that exist outside the binary sexes of XY (male) and XX ( female) and even then sex markers are not set in stone. Thus to say 1 in 500 "Men" have an additional (sex) chromosome would not be correct. Intersex would be far more appropriate.
The beginning of the end
"Research papers marred by innocent mistakes, misconduct or outright fakery are a serious problem in science"
Stirring words, to be sure - but hang on, what 's then left?
Can someone point me to those absolutely perfect research papers - without any innocent or not-so-innocent mistakes?
We found Bluesky, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before there's a good alternative to Meta
Yes, knowing your enthusiasm for adventure I figured this would be your thing 😀. Besides, not withstanding the recent changes to META, I think we are all well and truly over what it had to offer.
Are you aware of other XXY's worthy of following and will KSA have an official presence here?
I have retired from activism and whilst I acknowledge XXY is an Intersex variation, I do not refer to myself as Intersex, instead, (if asked) I tell people I am an XXY woman, and society seems to have a far better understanding of that.
All good, and no need for an apology. We are all in this together and may just have different ways of owning the prerogative.
I think you have jumped headfirst into a conversation that did not exist :(
You asked, "Is this internalised Intersex phobia".
And I replied: No, this is just me stating the difference between KS and XXY.
No, but Klinefelter's Syndrome which describes a disease of the testes, very much is. I would describe you as someone who is 47XXY, and by your own admission, has Klinefelter's Syndrome. Children/babies are not born with KS, they are born with a sex chromosome variation (Genetics)
The trouble with 47xxy and Klinefelter's is how they are used interchangeably even though they are not the same. The former relates to genetics and the latter to pathology. Having either does not me you will acquire the other.
~ I said that ~ :)
a. : a male person : a man or a boy. b. : an individual of the sex that is typically capable of producing small, usually motile gametes (such as sperm or spermatozoa) which fertilize the eggs of a female.
Lie awake no more.
Their sex is Intersex, while their gender is whatever they chose it to be
There you are :)
For what it's worth or not. With regards to humans, not everyone who is XXY will have Klinefelter's Syndrome, just as not everyone with KS will be XXY.
Elsa looks remarkably like Eddie, the XXY Calico.
As a migrant, albeit to a different Continent, I have to say Thanks Giving is all very foreign to me :) If it's something that floats your boat, I hope it was good for you.
As it should be
Likewise Sasha
Give me a couple of days to get the hang of this.
It was equally great to see you, Keeva and our extended family, the experience made my year, and the one before that as well. C x
Nice to meet you in this place/space
