Uh oh, eldest daughter has discovered CrunchyRoll and is going nuts for anime. When the seven day trail is up she’s going to be sad πŸ˜…

YouTube. Lots of great creators on there, plus British comedy shows to have a laugh, or snips from The Great British Bake-off, etc.

If a union affiliated with NZ Labour (or the CTU, which National and ACT lie about being Labour affiliates) was hosting a high-profile Epstein associate on a speaking tour of NZ it would be the only story for weeks

Remember their reaction to Benjamin Doyle having a slightly naughty Instagram handle

A photograph of the seminary gym in knives out. It has the same window.

Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

The email they sent out is they plan to have a new system in place for winter. Seems pointless now the question of if people wanted to continue participating over summer or take a break.

JFC. I’d say but why is that the line, but I guess expecting logic from these … boys… is a step too far. I’m not sure if that’s better or worse than I expected.

Raise your horns for another year being sent to Whamhalla. You’d think I’d learn that my favourite lunch spot is a no go over the Whamageddon season. Last Christmas I got lucky. Next Christmas maybe I’ll order out.

If only young people had an adult around that could have something to do with these children’s access to social media. Alas it must not be.

AI is just multilevel marketing again. As long as you aren’t the chumps at the bottom footing the bill, there’s money to be made.

AirNZ cabin crew strike action planned for the 8th. So possible flight disruptions unless there is something worked out

Back before the 8th at least, so you do get to come home!

I’ve been following the journey of someone who moved to Aus from the USA having daily β€œwow it’s like that here” which would have been the same in NZ, but when it got to health care… at least we don’t have to put up with NBN?

Bullshit alert: some NZ politicians (dishonestly) claiming that the puberty blocker ban is about "saving" kids from "unnecessary" medical interventions and "letting them make up their own minds"

No, that's *what puberty blockers* do. It gives those kids time to work out their own identity.

In the late 70s, Stephen Fry was recruited to join the Cambridge Footlights comedy group by its then president, Hugh Laurie. By the mid-80s, Fry and Laurie had become fixtures of light entertainment on British television. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/sHdarG

I would counterpoint with the thought that the cover art is no less an art form as the writing. Giving it a pass for part of the overall work seems like a slippery slope.

The thing is, National KNOWS there's no future in mining. They KNOW these projects aren't feasible, financially, environmentally or politically. But they need a short-term line-go-up moment to pretend their economic plan isn't a raging dumpster fire
