Hey Christopher - I'm a Musician/ photographer and would love to be included if you think I'd be a good fit π
Likewise my friend - good to meet you!
Thanks, super useful. Forgive my ignorance but what would the text controls be? I'm using Tyrano Builder atm which has an inbuilt mechanism for save/load/view text log which seems pretty functional, but would ofc definitely want to avoid any annoying omissions of features for fans of the genre
Tysm! Early stages but will eventually start posting some more infoπ€. It follows the story I an older man reminiscing about his life in an expat community in 70s Tokyo (and a mysterious unsolved death!). Atmosphere = pixelating/dehancing b&w film photographs I've taken. Gameboy camera vibes!
Thanks so much James! I'll be sure to check it out
Thanks so much. I'm a composer dabbling in writing/dev, so I'm really looking forward to creating the soundtrack. It will be an interesting challenge to keep things melow/non-repetitive and match the tone of the writing. I'm used to doing that with other people's projects - will be weird!
Incredible thank you! I will check out interstate 35. Have heard lots of great things about suzerain. I love Disco Elysium and have heard it's simalrish in some was which can only be good!
Does anybody play visual novel games? If so, what do you think is the most important component of a good one and are there any in particular that you would recommend? I'm attempting to make one just now as a side project and deeply curious!
A photo I took of a train driver on-route to Sapporo, Hokkaido. Japanese trains are fantastically aesthetic! This one was just a single carriage lugging its way through the snow
Thanks so much! I recorded this at Grans House Studio in Biggar, Scotland (great team - would recommend!). It's been a while now but I believe for most of the tracks the vocals were recorded either on a Townsend L22 or a Shure SM7b. At home I use an Aston Spirit which I've found to be great too
Thanks Izzy! Definitely a bit of inspiration there π my favourites are John Martyn and Joni Mitchell!
Nice songs, @finnpaul.bsky.social !

Thanks very much guys π
For those interested in having a peek behind the scenes at the composing process for an awesome Indie cosy game, I made a short video talking about work so far on the @ratmode.games Soggy Beans soundtrack @ratmode.gameshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmIXJHXkvQU&ab_channel=FinnPaul

The nastiness here is more unsaid/passive-aggressive, but absolutely exists. We've as many ignorant people as anywhere - my point is that the way he communicates doesn't lend itself well to meddling with our politics (fortunately). But we do have our own populist right hell approaching like everyone
True, but the way that these characters present themselves I think clashes with British values to a degree (approval of trump even on the UK right is very low e.g). Way too outwardly arrogant, grandios, etc.
Not to say we are immune, but Farage for example is a much more insidious character here
@ratmode.games Soggy Beans was included in ANZ Indie showcase! So chuffed to be doing the tunes for this one. If you like cosy and you like cute fish get it on yer wishlist x
