New post on my blog. Political. mrw.5-cent.us?p=834
I've just posted a new entry to my blog, and feel free to argue... mrw.5-cent.us?p=811
Lots of new and updated stuff on my blog. Among them - I have to apologize, having told a lot of folks they can read the first few chapters of both of my novels... then had no link to them. That's now under "free reads", and have links at the bottom to the next excerpt. Also, trip report: Worldcon
Much new content on my blog. I've added a section for non-fiction, which currently contains some posts on politics - not from the news, but larger scale issues.
On the main page, I've started a trip report - we just got back from Worldcon in Seattle, where we traveled by Amtrak.
New post on my blog - a question for readers: why do you like villains instead of the heroes?
Ok... so, would you be interested in my current novel, Becoming Terran? You get oligarchs, politics, strong women, spies, politics, genengineering, politics, a star drive (and did I mention politics?) and gender in the background.
PSA: I understand there's a meme out there that women over 60 shouldn't be out there chainsawing zombies.
That's a terrible idea in the first place. Esp. if there's a plague of zombies, whatever made them zombies may be highly contagious. Always use Molotovs on them.
Here's a pleasant surprise: notified today: finalist (one of three), 11,000 Years.
And not merely (as if any cat is "merely"), but one that's meshed, and can communicate. He was intended as a spy... but about that "intended"? As everyone knows, cats have their own agenda.
I've finally gotten back to writing. Let me assure you that the novel I'm working on now - let's see, I've definitely got two that will come out before it (they're both finished, and I'm looking for an agent), but this one is clearly going to be a best seller. There's a cat in it.
Never thought of trying to go viral... but if this does, maybe the muskrat will read it.
This is my second purely political posts on my substack page. substack.com/home/post/p-...
Watch this. Deal with subtitles. Viva la France! www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmDV...
Do your sworn duty, or resign, and don't call yourself a Christian.
You swore an Oath on the Bible to "uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States". If you fail to reign in Mr. Trump - and at this point, impeachment is the only answer - you have perjured yourself, forsworn your Oath, and so borne false witness.
I called, added:
You have allowed Mr. Trump to take the power of the purse from Congress. Now he is asserting the right to determine the meaning of the law, which is the duty of the Courts.
tried to contact the Speaker of the House, Johnson. There is no answer, "let us know which staffer you want to get hold of, and we'll get back to you." And there is no email for the Speaker, and Johnson's emali refuses to accept any out of his district. 202-225-4000
On the right - dinosaurs, or cats?
Country's really scrambled up.
New free read on my blog, short (2700 words or so). Not lightweight, but fitting for right now.
@marklemley.bsky.social I read on faceplant that you're asking gov't employees whose data was accessed. I worked as a contractor at the NIH for 10 years, retiring in '19. I had a POTS clearance. This means he has *my* data.
"Based", or "biased"? If the latter... several Canadians I know - who don't know each other - have all agreed that most Democrats would fit fine... in their *conservative* Tory party, and that AOC, the Squad, and Bernie would fit their Liberals.
