Paul Fusco was adamant about everyone around ALF treating him as if he was real. This could've actually been a demand from Fusco himself.
Television productions don't have a schedule or a budget for a creative fursuit so I haven't any criticism for the knockoff when nothing else would be available. If you have something acceptable it's better than a 'fursuit horror story' made with the pressing production tasks. It's alright.
The dialogue respects the nurses and doctors having a general idea who furries are. It's an awareness that it's a social connection that uplifts and not that this is because 'furries are bad' which dialogue wouldn't have been this way in the '90s. I'd like a better creative dialgoue on the furries.

The function of a tool in creation is pretty specific and it's usually something that facilitates development of the core skill.
I think if the AI boom isn't astroturfed (big if?) what it's telling us is that the result / deliverable at most jobs isn't really important so "nonsense" is ok.
I'm making a shoe post (no pics ever) for the topic of my Muk-Luks fluffy flat sandals. I have enjoyed them but the appeal should be copied to some less rare footwear. I think more footwear that's so fluffy might be found in that suede which is soft fluffy almost like a short cashmere. Your ideas?
