Rapid unicorn cloning
Oh, you introduced rabbits to Australia!
Added a sort of clone stamp tool, but for animals and very fast and overwhelming
*squinting through a telescope* yeah that's a classic Frog Cluster Moon

Thank you! π
They're just particle systems! They're simulated in world space, and I illustrated the particles so they're a little bit painterly. There's some lighting in the shader based on where they are relative to the moon, and some is just in the illustration

I redid my water shader recently and I'm pleased with the result! The way the stars reflect and sparkle on the water's surface is my favorite part

We'll be at GDC! (Some of us, and probably some of you?)
Come hang out, say hi, and chat about roguelikes & procedural generation.
# In Yerba Buena Gardens (North corner).
> At 12:30 PM, Thursday, March 12.
% With coffee, various hot teas, bagels & spreads.
pixel art in four panels depicting how to draw a sphere. Step 1 reads "draw a circle" and has a basic line circle. Step 2 reads "add basic shading" and has four shades of flat color including a couple teal highlights toward the upper left and darker blue-green shadow colors. Step 3 reads "add highlights and shadows. Blend colors" and the teal-blue sphere introduces two more highlight colors and two more shadow colors, which are now blended with excessive dithering. There is also slight reflected light on the lower right edge. Step 4 reads "make sphere angery" and the sphere now has a cartoonish frowning angry face in the highlight area. On the lower right of the image is a bar showing the eight colors in the palette.

rat time!
Yeah I like how itβs working! The code behind that is actually pretty simple; it basically has them point their head (or eye in this case) at a target if they have one, and otherwise just return their head to a neutral position. I think itβs the shape of this animal that makes it look so neat
Yes! Iβm planning a sort of god/sandbox mode, and also a story mode about being a robot living in these ecosystems and building a life and home for themselves and their friends (while investigating this mysterious place). Iβm big on procgen and also giving players a chance to be creative
Thank you! They're particle effects, and the particles are illustrated puffs of cloud, and I'm really happy with how they fit in with the rest of the visuals
Thank you! In general my goal is for the sim's underlying data to be visible to players as much as possible, and eyes are such a good way to express that -- e.g., are they sleepy? Is someone petting them on their forehead and their eyes are closing like a dog's? Or are they just a weirdo?
A strange forest, full of unsettling creatures

I really love it! It just tastes like very nostalgic fast food
Pros:
- nearly indistinguishable from regular fast food
- not too far from GDC
- unhinged energy; right across the street from a McDonaldβs
- near the Nintendo Store
Cons:
- Iβm insufferable about it
Iβll be at GDC! Would love to meet folks*
*I will try to bring everyone to the vegan McDonaldβs in Union Square
Thank you! ποΈ

Stress testing my NPC nav system WAY back when it was still V1.
Thousands of agents navigating, planning, and trying not to collapse the CPU π
Iβm on V4 now β but honestly this phase still looks cool.
