I just started this method this semester, and it's worked really well so far. Got some really good videos back, and I was able to give them all good feedback not only on the content of their videos (or lack thereof!) but the way they presented as well.

They're university students in my Internship Reflection Seminar (I'm the Career Services Director at the college I'm at). For the students in the class, it is required for their major (they take it alongside their internships) but it's not subject-specific, if that makes sense.

Many of my students express anxieties about their ability to communicate, so this (I feel) is helping them work through that anxiety by presenting alone, with me being the only one who’ll see their work.

I’ve run into this problem too. I’ve switched from having students submit written work to recording and submitting videos of themselves. It’s a lot harder for them to fake reading something AI generated. It’s also forcing them to work on organizing their thoughts and presenting them in

I feel the same way about my writing. If I don’t write, the words “lazy” and “unproductive” gnaw at me. But this piece reminds me that I’m neither lazy nor unproductive if I take a night off. Often, I come back with a clearer idea of what I want to say and how to say it when I pick back up.
