People refuse to acknowledge how an LLM actually works, and insist on assigning meaning and understanding to its output. There is no meaning, and the system understands neither the userโs question nor its own โresponse.โ
Hell. Hell is where you go.
I'm sure it'll be a treat. The good thing of waiting for the complete experience after only playing the sandbox survival for 8 years is that now I have a whole new experience to keep me entertained until Blackfrost is released.
I also managed to stay spoiler-free for Wintermute! Don't know how! ๐
Thank you for creating an amazing game and caring for it for all this time. Itโs a commitment so very rarely seen. In 30 days Iโll finally be able to start my whole play of โWintermuteโ โ yes, Iโve waited for all the episodes to be released before embarking on this journey! Cheers!
Stop treating them as if they were a category needing different rights or special treatment. Theyโre people. Same rights. Love and respect for their identity is what they need.
This shouldnโt need to be spelled out, for fuckโs sake.

Your stupid โAIโ chatbot is not sentient. LLMs are not sentient.
You know whoโs sentient and deserves your attention and respect? Trans people, for instance. Stop treating them as if they were abominations or โfake peopleโ or โcrossdressers with a secret agendaโ.

Haha, I feel my brain being whacked by a Ninja Turtle!
Maybe this is entirely subjective, but Iโd advise against creating titles with this kind of word layout. At first glance, my eyes moved on the words in such a way that I read:
โLiving during on a a lighthouse stormโ
and I thought I was having a stroke or something.

Hilarious malapropism of the day:
โI went down a rabid holeโ (from a YouTube comment)
Sorry, budget is tight, subscription fatigue is at an all-time high.

There, I fixed the thumbnail.
Indeed. And as someone who is *not* upgrading to the latest Mac OS exactly because of Liquid Glass, I wish I could have the new features while retaining the user interface of past Mac OS X versions.
This does a good job at summarising the problem with Appleโs Liquid Glass and how we got here from skeuomorphism through flat design. If you want to raise awareness among laypeople, this can be used to introduce them to the subject in a plain, comprehensible way.

These people should redirect their energies and time into contacting their local politicians and ask them to implement the changes they want, instead of bothering a regular person who writes online and tries to get by.

Of course I didnโt even need to address this. Emails like the one I got from Anonymous Coward routinely hit my Inbox and, while I ignore them all and never respond, never cease to baffle me.
I also care about OTHER PEOPLEโs mental health, so I tend to avoid propagating the doom-and-gloom. I prefer looking for positive things and share them at all costs.
My โlittle bubbleโ is called mental health. I try to reduce my exposure to doom-and-gloom content because itโs just unhealthy. One thing is to learn facts, another is being bombarded by narratives that, while they might be true in the here&now, lead to some degree of reality distortion at scale.
Well, Iโm not a professional political commentator, or an economist, or a geopolitics expert. If I donโt post about certain topics, it doesnโt mean Iโm oblivious to them, just that I donโt have anything meaningful to add.
Someone (they didnโt use their real name, so Iโll refer to them as โAnonymous Cowardโ) dared write me to school me about the kind of posts I should post here. โWith everything thatโs going on in the world, you seem to live in your little bubbleโ, they wrote.
Thanks for letting me know! Iโll watch it later today ๐
I havenโt watched this video, so I donโt know where this is going, but a friend of mine once bought on eBay a โ4Kโ camera (no brand specified) for โฌ4, and it turned out to be an 8-megapixel digicam from 2006.
4K resolution is, in fact, about 8.3 million pixels.
Even when thereโs proof (like Mickey Mouse not wearing suspenders), these people think someone has gone to impossible lengths to โedit out the suspenders in all available media to mess with our mindsโ.
And Iโm just like ๐

People are more willing to accept the theory that the Large Hadron Collider has โchanged something in our reality very subtlyโ than admitting to not remembering things clearly.
(4/5)
Yeah, strange that so many seem to have false memories, but you canโt honestly believe reality has been changed and โsomethingโ blurred two timelines.

According to said friend, this was โthe better stuffโ that really tried to explain why so many people seem to remember certain details (the cornucopia on the Fruit of the Loom logo, Mandela dying in prison in the 1980s, etc.) that actually didnโt happen.
(2/5)
A friend sent me some links and I fell into a small rabbit hole of โMandela effectโ videos.
