Could Tim Walz go from teaching history to being part of it?
Former classmates and colleagues talk about the teacher and coach who went into politics and is now believed to be on Kamala Harris’s short list for a running mate.
It’s not every day a former public school teacher ends up on a presidential ticket.

I first met Joe Biden when I was in high school. He crossed a room full of donors and Pennsylvania bigwigs, including then-Governor Ed Rendell, to talk to the only kid in the room, for like ten minutes. He also likes sharks and encouraged me to continue becoming a scientist.

Stingrays haven’t been called “sea flap flaps” in years. Now they are called “charismatic pancakes of wonder”.

In Arizona, declining water levels on the Colorado River have allowed invasive plants to take over a riverside once full of native trees
