And, I mean, there's so much that could be done with road design. Narrower roads slow people down, islands at intersections offer pedestrians respite, radar for pedestrian crossings to allow people with mobility issues more time, sharper turns that force turning cars to slow down, etc.
Playground and school zones don't exist for these people, either. We should just rid ourselves of private automobiles, but at minimum it's time to ban right turns on red, add devices that restrict speeds on cars to the posted maximums, and cameras on the front of cars should force full stops.
It's super awesome to hear a car driver complain about cyclists not following the rules of the road. Near as I can tell, stop signs are vague suggestions to these drivers, and everyone approaches a right turn at a red light as though pedestrians don't exist.
