Has anyone written something about the situation in which:
you're walking the dog and
it poops and
you pick it up and
you're holding the bag and
a neighbor drives by waving and
you wave back... Poop in hand?

I have this framed in my office.
Bought the print online and the dimensions are not exactly right, but I still love the colors and it seldom fails to fill me with tranquility.
A hundred years later, I'm writing this early on a Sunday morning.
The storm came and went and we did not lose power. We did, however, lost our HVAC, which froze and broke (literally).

I've been happy with Tidal. Qobuz seems like another good option that I've never tried, just read good things about it.
Heading to the office in a busy morning with the plan of putting on my headphones and listening to the new Zach Bryan as work soundtrack.
A piece about tamales in the local newspaper. My first New Year's resolution is to visit all vendors mentioned in the article. (It won't be my first time at a couple of these places)

Tesla Model Y, that I know of.
Remembering the hard way that matrix properties are not conserved when you add or average the matrices.
Congratulations!
Some cars do this already. No idea, but something tells me it might be an easy upgrade from lane departure sensors?
I'm always complaining about the town not having enough food options but today there had a French Dip special at the deli and it was quite good!
I got an email today from a student with which I'd had a civil but not entirely pleasant conversation about final grades.
They realized their tone may have been a bit off and said that wasn't their intention... Then thanked me for a good semester.
Young people are fine... Don't judge too soon.
I ordered foot at a food truck and realized I did not have my card (still working with the 3yo to understand that my wallet is not a toy).
Me: Do you take Google pay?
Food truck lady: what's that?
Once I worked at a bank and got the day off to go take a test and spent the whole afternoon playing Mario Kart.
Sometimes I miss that feeling.
From time to time I get random flashbacks to very very cool moments in my life. Not exactly highlights, just things I'm very glad I got to experience. One of them was seeing Rigoletto at the Teatro Real in Madrid. It's been ten years now.
A cooked whole turkey
We canceled Thanksgiving because there was an accident right before our guests came in (some actually showed up, we just said we'd call with updates. Everyone's alive and we'll recover. The thing is... Now we have turkeyπ¦ for the rest of the year, it seems.

My go-to history podcast featured a TikTok commercial. @theresthistory.bsky.social I thought that was interesting.
Clemson University and cloudy sky
Sometimes I take breaks and walk around campus.
Nothing keeps me more humble than a streak from sequential illnesses begun by daycare. Almost three weeks now of waking up with some ailment or two.
If only I lived in a town WITH movie theaters. But one can dream.
Random question. I vaguely remember something about copyright expiring after 100 years. Does that apply to film distribution as well? Can theaters show 1925 films for free now?
Don't know if it's a viable business but the idea of reliving the 1920s through film sounds so cool.
The washer and dryer finished at almost the same time and both started playing that tune they play but they were slightly off in timing and it sounded like a fugue...
It was beautiful
When we moved we did a decent job unpacking. Two small boxes of "miscellanea" were left half unpacked and we decided we'd deal with them later. They went to the basement, which became a guestroom. They're now in my home office. I might do something about these "coworkers"... Or not
And they did not... But what a series they gave us
Wikipedia page: "Hans' father, Albert, left Germany in 1933 to escape the persecution of Jews by the Nazi government. Heeding his father's advise, Hans emigrated from Switzerland to Greenville, South Carolina, in 1938.
Today I learned that Einstein's son, Hans Albert, lived in Greenville working as an engineer for USDA.
Apparently his house still stands.
This has been a terrible sports year for me but the Blue Jays might win the world series after 32 years...
As my plates say: While I breathe, I hope.
I know at least one AP at a business school who wears a costume to class on Halloween. You'll be fine.
