I think the biggest damage to the art community was the obsolescence of gallery sites (y!, deviantart, etc) and the rise of scroll-by social media, like twitter and even tumblr. Art is not ''content'', you shouldnt need to post art every day (or every month!) to be relevant. This mindset sucks.

i want you to know that just because of wanting to play barbie dolls with my ocs, i ended up writing a whole run-down of some Arbiter lore ... something i could not do during all my school time.

There's a bit of an indentation between her skin and where the gem-like growth begins. There's also evident scarring on her back from where she was stabbed through, which seems to glow faintly at times. Other than that, her injuries healed rather instantaneously, at the cost of physical alterations.

It was virtually painless though, and it was more like an odd, visceral swelling. Even Rhys didn't realize what happened, as they were teetering between states of consciousness.

After they emerged, an anomalous structure now protruded outside of their chest, replacing what was once a gaping hole.

Rhys was stabbed through her chest. This occurred during the encounter she had, drowning beneath the miasma from an Arbiter's corpse. It's unknown what caused this, though though it very much had to do with the entity that Rhys vaguely witnessed while she was under there.

A reference sheet of my main OC, Rhys (they/she): An elf with green hair that blends into a dark red at the ends. She has gilded eyes and tan skin, her complexion freckled. Tattoos adorn her forehead and cheeks, and she has a ring piercing on their bottom lip. They sport elaborate attire with earthy tones, mostly beige, brown, or red, with contrasting teal accents. Some parts of their attire are lined with fur, accented with belts, and trimmed in yellow. -- Pictured is a portrait, alongside two full-bodied variants. Her inventory items include woodcarving tools, a large rucksack, her bow, and quiver. The main text reads: " Rhys was once a ranger staking her claim on purpose, until an ally betrayed her to the encroaching miasma. As she sank beneath dark waters, she only remembered incoherent whispers and a lurching pull within their chest. Fate spared her little time to react, however. The next moment, she was gasping for air upon the surface, now carrying a curse that found its way into her beating heart. This was the second betrayal—by demise itself, and the world had presumed her dead for some time. Seeking answers behind the incident, Rhys eventually set off on their own, finding their way as a traveling merchant. Though they appear to have no real destination in their travels, their warm exterior belies the desperation within. A vague lead drives her journey to find those who she believes can help her. Come what may, they are not without a smile to the world and its ever-changing tides. "

oops sorry, i totally misread and saw that you did contact paypal, but yeah see if they're able to trace the IP for the transactions ... because if they can see that it came from a location that isn't yours, that may be enough to get them to reverse their decision hopefully ):

and you may have to try that again too with steam support. apparently, they're a bitch-and-a-half when it comes to cases like these. so, i did get lucky with my scenario ;;

if possible, try to ask paypal support if they can trace/confirm the IP addresses for the transactions, and if it came from a device of yours. that way, you can prove the purchases weren't from you. because i'm sure the first thing they'll assume is that the purchases aren't fraudulent.

but the difference with me was that my card info was saved for easier spending... learned my lesson. since it happened with you on paypal, you may have to contact their support. >_<

oh man, im so sorry to hear that! yeah, my steam also got hacked a few months ago despite having 2fa, and i managed to regain access; the hacker spent around $180, though. but on my end, steam support managed to roll back all the payments. ;_;

the years have changed both of them in their own way, yet their gestures show that those past feelings subtly remain. even then, there's a tinge of awkwardness. after all, weren't they just caught in the foolishness of youth back then?

someone like Rhys would feel otherwise, deep down.

then they end up separating due to circumstances beyond their control. eventually, they cross paths again as young adults, albeit briefly. it's endearingly clumsy for both of them when they reunite. though with a bit of time, it's almost as though they pick right back up.

ex: in my headworld, Rhys and Seoha have this complex combination of all three 😭 they've known each other since they were kids and grew up together for 7 years. their bond grew quite profound, to the point where they saw each other as someone they loved dearly. of course, it was platonic back then.

i like a variety of tropes honestly!! but i'll always fall for the slowest burns of hell, childhood/friends to lovers, doomed, or any combination of these at once. you will absolutely get me there.
