The record-setting pace of retirements from Congress continues, led by Republicans
NPR is tracking the record number of congressional lawmakers โ now more than one in eight current members โ who have announced plans to retire or run for a different office in 2026.
New update from the @npr.org Congressional retirement tracker:
With Rep. Darrell Issa's announcement, we're at 68 members of Congress who don't plan to return to their seat โโ 1 in 8 lawmakers.
We're tied for the most House R's retiring in a century + it's already the most Senate Rs in one cycle.

Simon, the Western world should be unified in achieving the goal of regime change in Iran. That horrific regime cannot be negotiated with, cannot be bought off, and should have been toppled decades ago. And Qatar is no friend to the USA.

"I get to speak over the actual Iranians, because I know best how they SHOULD feel, and they shouldn't be happy about the death of Khamenei, who just slaughtered 40,000 of their kids in cold blood on the streets" is an insane thing to argue.

The regime in Iran has attacked both the U.S. and Israel directly or via proxies repeatedly over the years. They are an evil, dangerous regime. Iโm no fan of either Trump or Bibi, but I am glad theyโve taken steps to try to liberate the Iranian people (and everyone else) from their reign of terror.

You get your news from The Guardian, which transcribes reports from the Iranian regime.
An Instagram influencer is more credible than the regime, yet The Guardian prints what the regime says.
I donโt believe the regime, but you do you.

Inflation is up to 3.6% year over year. This means it's up since Trump took over, and higher than where Biden held it dating back to June 2023. Trump's promise to immediately lower prices has completely failed, yet he insists it's all fixed.

Trump famously made/kept a bunch of money by simply refusing to pay people he owed it to, and now under Republican control thatโs the ethos of the federal government. It cannot help but fray the bonds that unite us, and itโs in some sense *the* fundamental problem we have to solve.

The Basij, the regime in Iran's voluntary militia, has been attacking student protestors at the Beheshti University in Tehran today.
Iranian media shows screaming and chaos as protestors are brutally shut down.
Can the world pay attention now, or is it still "not enough"?

Harris knows the answer. Bartiroma doesn't even need to ask it because she know the answer too. Trump can create whatever EO he wants and has. He's routinely issued EOs that are patently unenforceable. EO's are not the law. Liars. Flat out liars. Hucksters. All of them.

Today, the Trump administration repealed the endangerment finding: the ruling that served as the basis for limits on tailpipe emissions and power plant rules. Without it, weโll be less safe, less healthy and less able to fight climate changeโall so the fossil fuel industry can make even more money.
