Basically I'm wondering if I should even try to keep writing this thing in this day and age. Like is a prince/billionaire romance that tries to both have the social commentary and the romance too unbelievable to make for a viable story? Like am I TOO lost in the fantasy sauce?

Because the point is to directly interrogate the trope itself, in a way? Like can/should you be with someone who's this powerful in a setting this public? Isn't it terrifying and potentially dangerous? And CEO romances generally don't question the dynamic itself so the reader can ignore it easier.
Like they do fall in love, is the thing. Despite it all. But now, in these, uh, trying times, I'm wondering if falling for ultra-rich royalty on reality tv might be so outlandish that ppl just won't suspend their disbelief to buy into it anymore. And it's different from your regular "CEO romances"
as well as going into like the reality TV aspect of it and the loss of control of one's identity and privacy etc etc. Now I'm also going to get into social media and how everything must be dramatized, monetized and made into Content. But despite all that it was still meant to be a love story.
So I have a story which I've been trying to write since I was an older teen (I'm pushing 30) that's basically The Bachelor but in a cyberpunk setting with a prince as the bachelor. The protagonist is a working class cyborg barely scraping by. I wanted to explore class (obvs) and inequality (obvs)
I still haven't trained the speedy "this'll do" muscle which I'll need if I want to make this work lmao, and I'm already taking every shortcut imaginable.
I still haven't put in any decorative elements ... Maybe those might help spread out the text boxes and panels a bit??
But I also really want to pad it out as much as I can because I'm still being a bit too precious with each panel, and I imagine it'll get worse as I start to actually draw the characters and environments proper (right now it's just exposition with a bunch of unnamed ppl) 2/3
