#ClaudeCode experiments part 2: gave it an existing small .NET 8 application with an Angular frontend and asked it to upgrade to .NET 10.
It broke the whole login and was unable to fix it afterwards over multiple iterations, just burning through tokens.

I'm mean, there are a gazillion #XML files out there as training data, and it can't even do.
Maybe we should add XML support for German quotation marks and Guillemets so our poor it-will-take-over-the-world-tooling does not get confused?
Yesterday, I tried out #Claude Code for the first time. It used German quotation marks („“) for #XML attributes, when modifying an XML resource file, containing German translations (which used those quotation marks) and completely burning through tokens, trying to solve it.
#AI
The main use of my company website as a self-employed person? To display my tax id, so I can always copy it from there, when I order something online for work.
Every time I tell my #cat "Don't even think about it", she very clearly thinks about it.
Can‘t wait to see that tomorrow!
That's what developers need. Right? RIGHT?
The difference between rain and snow seems to be about 600m of altitude. In other words, enjoy the lake panorama with me.
Please don't call it "The Complete Guide", if you don't describe how to test it 🙃
I don't need a new LEGO set. I don't need a new LEGO set. I don't need a new LEGO set.
Finally migrated from #logseq to #Obsidian
Really nice experience so far!
Did the bug eat the enter key?
Yesterday somebody asked me what terminal I have there and "if that's Copilot". No bro, that is a #fish shell and has existed for over 20 years, I don't need no god damn #AI #LLM to do autocomplete on the command line.
Creating issues on GitHub is just subscribing to other people having the same problem at some point in the future.
Microsoft seems to be collecting a lot of new data now via third party frameworks like xUnit and TUnit.

Do #cats actually know and care, when we are sick?
Or do they just like, that we are hot as fuck?

TIL:
git update-index --assume-unchanged ./file
Ignore local changes
#git
It‘s pretty nice, especially for syntax highlighting.
Downside: a lot of CSS
I went with the route of using a Git repo + hugo as a static site generator. Works pretty well and is easy to setup.
Let's wrap up the day:
- Sleeper train with about 2h delay
- Nice day in Kufstein
- Couldn't get my suitcase back, because the luggage storage machine was broken
- Wasted 2h with their support and missed two trains
- Get to the train station
- Track closure because of an accident

Hello #39c3! Hello #Hamburg!
I'm always somewhat annoyed at people who send (personal) Merry Christmas wishes during the day on the 24th. It's called Christmas Eve, not Christmas Lunch or Christmas Early-Afternoon.
This year, we are apparently already starting that at the 23rd of December??? What is wrong with people?
It's not Christmas time, it's bookkeeping time.
#selfemployed
We used it to basically roll all our updates, and at some point we had to switch to Renovate to use the grouping feature, because there where just SO MANY MERGE CONFLICTS. After that, it was a lot better, but still not good.
From my past experience: very badly, because if you have multiple dependency PRs, we usually ended up with a lot of merge conflicts.
Is there anything new now?
Thank you #MicrosoftTeams, I know that I'm muted. I'm in a public place, that is the whole reason I'm muted.
Is there any way to disable this annoying popup?
No, you’re not a “prompt engineer”, you’re a sloperator.
Borrowed with love from Mastodon:
Really good advice from @dylanbeatt.ie !
I would actually add one tip, which is hidden in the first sentence: if you have the chance, host a meetup. It gives you regular practice by doing the event moderation. Further: really helps to build a network outside of your bubble.
This is probably as good as it gets for this year.
