Recently went on a herping trip in central Ontario with a colleague of mine. We decided to checking pitcher plants for unlucky salamanders that fell in. We ended up finding 3 eastern red-back salamanders (Plethodon cinereus) in three separate plants 50-100 meters apart from one another!

Artwork depicting a Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus battling with the T. rex being gored by the two long horns of the Triceratops. The image composed of oranges and blues with the blood being bright red. Underneath the image is the text "Death to the Tyrants".
Artwork depicting a Stegosaurs lifting an Allosaurus up with its tail with the implication its thagomizer spikes are imbedded in its stomach. The Allosaurus has a look of shock and regret at the decisions its made. The image is composed of pinks, purples and oranges. Underneath the image it reads "Fuck around and Find Out".
Artwork depicting an Ankylosaurus taking on three Acheroraptors. One of the raptors is being smashed in the stomach by the Ankylosaurus tail club and lifted into the air, the wind being knocked out of them and certainly some bones crushed with the impact. The other two raptors attempt to battled the armored behemoth. The composition is made up of red, purple, and orange. Underneath the image are the words "Don't Give Up the Fight".
Prints of these 3 designs are now available in my store.
Stickers are also up for preorder and should ship in 1-2 weeks.
I'll also have all of these for sale at ECCC.

A middle aged man helplessly holds an alligatorβs tail as it steals his hat
In a sentence never before uttered by humans, I am delighted to share that an alligator stole my conservation instructorβs hat by jauntily walking into the water while wearing it π

a statue of a robed figure with a rams skull head holding a human skull that is also a candle. Several human hand statues stretch from the ground reaching towards the figure. This takes place in some cathedral looking ruins. A massive tree looms behind everything.

My 25 years of palaeoart chronology...
In 2020 the GeoCenter MΓΈns Klint held an exhibition of feathers in Cretaceous amber. I reconstructed the life appearance of the feathers and a dinosaur from which the feather might have come. Here's Shanweiniao.

An extinct elephant-sized brown ground sloth Eremotherium trying to eat the pale round fruit growing on the trunk of the Cannonball tree. There are also small red flowers. The fruit and seeds may have been distributed by extinct megafauna.
A small white flower with thin green leaves in front of a dark stone wall with a representation of a cave painting of a woolly rhino. The flower Silence stenophylla or Narrow-leafed Campion was reconstructed from a seed found in a ground squirrel burrow that was 32,000 years old.
A grey bird sits on a branch of an extinct plant Florissantia that has green leaves and flower-like papery husks. This plant is in the Malvaceae family and lived during the Eocene 50 million years ago. The bird is a Zygodactylus and it is eating an ancient wasp Palaeovespa.
A small brown pterosaur, Sibopterus, with a yellow and orange crest eating the orange seeds of an epiphydic cycad growing on the side of a tree.

Sharks eating dinosaurs! At the charming National Museum in Prague.
Totally morbid paleoart. But based on one of the few Czech dinosaur fossils, an ornithopod bone crisscrossed with the razor blade bites of sharks.

A murky underwater scene of a large predator, Mastodonsaurus, rising to grab the shadowy, lizard-like body of Jaxtasuchus. The Mastodonsaurus is well-camouflaged, bearing the same mottled greens, browns and yellows as the vegetation-filled swamp water around it. It has small, pudgy limbs and a long arcing tail.
From 2021, #paleoart of the giant temnospondyl Mastodonsaurus preying on the wee archosauriform Jaxtasuchus. Mastodonsaurus were huge - 5-6 m long - making them some of the largest amphibians of all time, and presumably lived crocodile-like lifestyles. #sciart #fossils #paleontology
