With my debut novel, GODSTORM, launching next week I’m staring at the ceiling by 3am.

Maybe this is a secret tax on creativity. That storytelling comes with midnight scaries for the storyteller.

Ive spent almost 30 years working in sustainability, where stress comes with the job title!

And I’ve slept like a baby.

I’ve started a business and a charity, fought through recessions, published two non-fiction books, dealt with climate denial trolls, pitched Prime Ministers, given TED talks, dealt with medical and family crisis. Been loved, hated, fetted, dismissed.

Publishing a novel is literally the most stressful thing I’ve ever done. I feel undressed. Like people will be peaking into parts of my psyche that respectable folks keep private.

I’m blown away the Mail on Sunday have given Godstorm such a good write-up (and covered it at all).

My 75-year-old Dad raced down to the car and is currently searching his neighbourhood newsagent's for hard copies. I love that he's so excited about his middle-aged daughter's book.
