A Statement on ICE Yesterday, I addressed where I stood regarding the horrific things that are happening in the United States. For those who are unaware, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has taken the lead in carrying out the Trump administration’s mass deportation initiative in which people are being torn from their jobs, homes, and families. Due to this initiative and poor training of those who have chosen to take part in ICE, we have seen an increase in violence and avoidable deaths. While I may not have the largest platform, I know that I can’t sit in silence or pretend that these things aren’t happening. I can’t continue to sit in the comfort of my home knowing that other people are being forced out of theirs. I want to provide tools that will educate and inform all of us of ways we can stay safe in the circumstance that something could happen.
