The Role of Doctors Is Changing Forever Some patients don’t trust us. Others say they don’t need us. It’s time for us to think of ourselves not as the high priests of health care but as what we have always been: healers.

The Role of Doctors Is Changing Forever - Dr. @dhruvkhullar.bsky.social.’s article reminds that doctors should always be healers first.

Interesting in my career I’ve always noticed that certain medications do hamper a patient’s weight loss journey – particularly beta blockers, benzodiazepines, and corticosteroids.

Fascinating study which shows certain medications and their effect on the gut microbiome, sometimes long after stopping the medications. It still not clear what the long-term implications of a changed gut microbiome might have on a person‘s health so you have to be cautious interpreting the data.

Receiving this proclamation from LA Councilmember Adrin Nazarian was humbling, not only as recognition of my life in medicine, but because it came from a friend who has proven himself, time and again, to be an advocate, a pragmatist, and a true bridge-builder for our city, our county, and our state.

LA Councilmember Adrin Nazarian and I reflected on our past, but spoke mostly about the future. He shared his vision of Los Angeles as a city and county where every neighborhood thrives.

Today I was honored by LA Councilmember Adrin Nazarian with a proclamation that he had first intended for me at the close of his Assembly tenure. We finally met in his NoHo office, fittingly right next to a Kaiser Permanente clinic, where our paths first crossed.

Gen Z kids today suffered a trauma with the violence visited upon Charlie Kirk. Agree with his views or not, trauma knows no politics. Talk to your kids. This is real. It's not normal. Hear your kids. Don't shut them down. Let them unpack the emotions with you. Check your emotions first.

Karekin II, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, was elected in 1994 Catholicos of All Armenians by a National Ecclesiastical Assembly of 400 delegates as Karekin I, being the first Supreme Patriarch with that name. He passed away in 1999, succeeded by the current Catholicos Karekin II.

Armenian Architecture - VirtualANI - The Monastery of Aprank A building by building tour of the deserted medieval Armenian city of Ani in eastern Turkey - - the monastery of Aprank, near Tercan, Erzincan.

Aparank Monastery “was a pilgrimage site for both #Armenia|ns and Kurds of Dersim, with both communities gathering for its feast day. An Armenian priest and Kurdish sayyid or pir would bless the sacrificial salt.” www.virtualani.org/aprank/index...

Seen yesterday on Wikipedia the ~ 15ft/5m tall late 12th century #Armenian Khachkars (cross stones) of Aparank Monastery, Üçpınar, Tercan in Erzincan Province, eastern Turkey. I was here in 2022. Even in ruins there was beauty. A 3rd fallen Khachkar symbolic of continued divide.
