This goes for American comics, too. Take what you think they make, halve it, then halve it again. And if they aren't working for the Big Two, halve it again. And to be brutally honest, if they're writing and drawing graphic novels, halve it yet again.
I think my greatest advice to other artists who want to make a comic or visual novel with their own characters is to actually read other comics or vns
Call your reps about this. Every time a book ban has been overturned or shut down, it's because the vast majority of people who believe in the freedom to read spoke up.

2026 Hourly comic Day - 7am: Waking up, getting kicked out of the bed by my dog, making coffee and reading. 8am: Doing my hourlies, Alex wakes up
9am: Picking out clothes and getting ready for the day 10am: Made brunch 11am: Took Frankie out but she didn't like it because it was too cold. When we got in, the doorman told us that we had a package that turned out was my missing DHL package from a month ago.
12pm: painted nails, played genshin, watched the puppy bowl pre-game 1pm: made snacks for the super bowl and had a can fly at me when I opened the fridge 2pm: played with Frankie to get her some exercise since it's too cold to take her out for long periods of time
3pm: Frankie still wanted to play but was too tired from playing, we watched the puppy bowl 4pm: Couldn't remember what I did other than watch the super bowl preshow among other things 5pm: Green day, kanji flashcards, superbowl

A comic in black/white/blue. Lucy rolls her bike through an alley, by a crew building a fence. Narration: My neighbors hired a crew to rebuild their fence. Crew member: "Do you need us to move our stuff out of the way?" Lucy: "Oh! No, you're all good, thanks!" Lucy: "Have a good one!" Crew member: "You, too!"
Narration: I was teaching when my phone started lighting up with alerts from the rapid response network and neighbor chat. Lucy's back is to us as she shows a group of enthusiastic children something on a notebook. Behind her, her phone in her bag is buzzing. Narration: By the time the lesson was over, they were already gone. Lucy is reading messages on her phone. Messages: Alert: black SUV Sighting: be on alert for... Confirmed abductionL alley between ----- and ----. SUV plates... We tried to get them inside, but it was too... ...Contacting an I.R. lawyer. Heading to Broadview later today.
Lucy is riding her bike home. Narration: On the ride home, I kept thinking "If I'd been there, could I have warned them?
