As budget chair I have allocated an additional $3.5 million to protect our immigrant community and our status as a sanctuary city. We need to do more.

Now Kristi Noem has been fired but we must be clear that it’s not enough. We must affirm birthright and naturalized citizenship, expand sanctuary cities, and invest in comprehensive immigration reform.
Through Kristi Noem, the Trump Administration authorized ICE agents to violate American people’s constitutional rights, killing innocent people and terrorizing our immigrant community.
We have been calling on Congress to withhold funding for ICE and impeach Kristi Noem. Millions of Americans stood in solidarity and protected our neighbors, friends and family members.

Trump and the GOP cannot start a war and put America's national security at risk so they can distract the American people away from ICE agents killing Americans on our streets, Trump's tariffs that wreck our economy, and massive cuts to healthcare, food security and our education.
I have said this before: Donald Trump is the biggest threat to our national and global security.

We tried to post a video to TikTok in solidarity with immigrants. After receiving multiple errors while attempting to post the video, it’s still not being shown to users. And we are not alone.
This is a dangerous time for our democracy and we can’t allow our social media apps to silence us.

San Francisco is a Sanctuary city. There are about 500,000 other Sanctuary Cities in America, and when I’m in Congress, I will protect and expand cities’ sanctuary status so that everyone - regardless of immigration status - can receive healthcare.
Democrats need to show that we can walk and chew gum at the same time.
Can we impeach Trump and also deliver for the American people? The answer is we must do both. And as your congresswoman, I will do both.
