Card for vet bills. We each still have somewhere around 1K to pay on each of our cards both from Mango and some from rat stuff.
I actually have some rat D20s I'm working on as well with another artist friend.
After the CareCredit cards are paid off, then all the vet debt will finally be done.

Plus thanks to an awesome artist friend I will have some special, cute Mango dice too. Those ones will be used to hopefully pay off what's left on mine and Ray's CareCredit cards.

After paying the outstanding bill at Tufts + the 400 bucks for Mango being euthanized and cremated... I am very broke lol. I still have my etsy shop on vacation mode and probably will have it like that a while longer. I'm gonna be working real hard to catch up on orders + have stock for reopening

Lmao but also like. The amount of animals we currently have is another reason I am not rushing out to get another bird. We have 5 rats and 8 birds. There is enough going on.
To be honest, I think Dill will always be my heart rat. He was the sweetest and most pure creature alive. Even the vet wanted to steal him. I still miss him and always will. I want a tattoo of him someday. No rat could replace him.
But I still love all my rattos.
Chili in particular bit Ray BAD the day we brought them home. Like I think he has some permanent damage on his hand. I was legit afraid of Chili.
But, after they were neutered and we spent time with them, there have been no bites! And they are much friendlier.
This one is Wasabi aka my Wasa-bae. When me and Ray got our current group of 5 rescued from some kind of hoarding situation, two of them were particularly troubled. So we each got a "project rat." I got Wasabi and he got Chili. Now they are our favorites. Even if they bit us at the start.
At least the snow is melting and it's getting warmer

- I lost a lot of my collected Mango feathers that she molted (though luckily not all of them) because moths got into them and ate them up

I must admit that weird comments I got are why I am not specifically saying that I had to choose to put Mango to sleep.
In particular, when Mango was first sick and I was making plans to take her to Tufts, a couple people made comments along the lines of like, "I'm glad you decided euthanasia isn't
For example, the RATS subreddit mods just made a post saying that people shaming others for humane euthanasia won't be tolerated.
I've also seen weird comments on other people's post about their pets and like... I dunno. I don't remember it being this controversial before.
So. Like. Did something happen recently that has caused people to be weird about humane euthanasia for animals? I feel like this didn't used to be the case but idk.
I ask not only because I have had a couple people be weird about it in regards to Mango, but I'm also seeing it elsewhere.

I feel bad that I don't feel as close to the other birds. I feel like I should be just as attached to all of them, but I'm not. Losing Mango feels like a wound in my chest.
Sometimes I feel bitter that at least 5 birds in the bird room are older than she was. Why was her time so limited?
A week and a couple days since losing Mango and I am... not great lmao. What I wouldn't give for a time machine to go back and take more pictures and videos. To spend more time with her. I'm still struggling with whether I made the right decision or not. I feel guilty.
No, we didn't. Our vet doesn't really do it. We could have taken her to Tufts for it, but I didn't like the idea of having to drive 3 hours away for that + spend more money when we had already spent so much
