World Book Day seems as great a day as any to be at the launch of Walesβ new literary magazine, Folding Rock.
A beautiful launch with readings from Cardiffβs own Rachel Dawson and others.
Iβve started a Substack about facing my fears in the year I turn 30. These fears include starting said Substack and posting about it publiclyβ¦

The sun rising over a frosty field
A golden retriever mid run across a frosty field with blue skies and houses behind a line of trees in the background
A golden retriever with a big stick in a river surrounded by a frosty grass bank
Happy new year BlueSky! Blue skies spoiled me on this morningβs dog walk, easing me into the post Christmas to return to work
Between that and Wicked Iβve fully got the musical bug back.
First time seeing Hamilton at the Wales Millennium Centre last night - absolutely incredible. Truly lives up to the hype and like nothing Iβve ever seen before.
The group chats are absolutely popping off after that emergency government alertβ¦

Brilliant to be at the @seneddwales.bsky.social today for an important event to mark and celebrate International Day of Disabled People
Bluesky is great so far but Iβm REALLY missing the βsaveβ function. Keep seeing so many articles I need to save for later and feels like itβs a missing feature in-app.
Retweeting this important research for anyone else whoβd like to take part & share their experience of accessing the NHS as someone with hearing loss π¦»

Lovely to be included! Thanks Jon.
Managed to get Lana tickets in the pre-sale today after wanting to see her live forever.
Excitement almost undercut by the price of the ticket π₯² future me wonβt need to eat
The view of a park with a river in the middle and surrounded by autumnal leaves, with the sun peaking through the trees and a golden retriever in the distance.
A leafy path in a park with trees and bushes either side. A golden retriever is in the middle of the path with orange sunlight behind him through the trees and his shadow is cast forward.
The view of a mountain ark covered with mist, still in the early morning light with the sun peaking through the trees
Didnβt want to get out of bed this morning but Cardiff delivered with this golden glow.
I can totally imagine! Iβve recommended it to so many friends. Such a perfect balance of moving but ACTUALLY funny rather than when blurbs say βlaugh out loudβ and at best you smirk lol
A pile of books - a mix of paperback and hardback - on a table in a bar with two people in the background chatting.
Last nightβs book swap at Scaredy Cats.
Went in determined not to bring anything home (for once) with a TBR pile as long as my arm, but couldnβt resist the temptation of a nostalgic Jaqueline Wilson reread.
Really good, Actually & Notes on Heartbreak were my contributions and both great reads.

A panel of five women sat in front of the Women in Public Affairs Wales logo addressing an audience not pictured
Brilliant launch of Women in Public Affairs Wales today full of super talented women.
The consensus was that weβve come a long way but women still face challenges in the sector.
An important reminder of how important collaboration, support & networks really are.

This morningβs beautiful, frosty, autumnal walk with my happy boy.
Agree with you both. Authenticity, ease and charm can all be an easier draw when not in power. When youβre already in charge, the risk is that you come across out of touch with the realities of how people are feeling.
Itβs going to be an interesting few years trying to get the balance right!
I really agree with this but will be interested to see how well those qualities translate. The mood at conference was so jubilant and positive, but that didnβt come across in media coverage. Wonder how much voters not linked to party politics will feel it?

Beautiful Llandudno played host to an energising Welsh Labour conference.

100% agree with this. The data is so much better and itβs just all in all a much nicer platform to use, and avoids the Amazon guilt!
Itβs also been quite a long time since I experienced the existential angst of writing a bio
