Pope Leo XIV could save millions of lives if he just tells Trump to restore USAID.

Will it happen?

Would he listen?

This is a sad story - and it also a case for why we need to invest in expert and adequate staffing to do oversight of our funds - the rapid slash and burn cuts to USAID and international assistance have made it more likely that funds could be misspent, as they have decimated those capacities.
