They announce any concerts for 2027?
Boy would I be down, even if just for fun.
Man I have horror stories of 2017. We were broke ass fresh college grads and 2 of my party of 4 had never traveled abroad before. I like to think I was prepared, but everyone else wasn't.

I am discovering so much new music I have never heard before. Dumping Spotify for YouTube Premium and YouTube Music bundle was the right move.

In a strange turn of events since January 2026 and today my default YT music recommendations have flipped. It went to almost exclusively Hatsune Miku music to a combination of just Kasane Teto + anime OPs but no Miku in sight, just Teto bangers.

Imagine tossing Panda's orange chicken in buffalo sauce, not even a good one, the one from a chain pizza place. That's Panda's Dynamite Sweet and Sour chicken. Gross.

I just deleted 13 hours of my own work by accidentally deleting the SSD with my /appdata/ folder when I thought I was just checking if Mirror or Raid Z1 was on but instead changing from one to the other and formatting it. Man I am really bad at this Docker / HomeLab thing.

The "Real OG" I mentioned in my post.
That was me trying to make an pun and seeing if anyone would recognize you. I didn't know you were on Bsky!

If it makes you feel better I did the same. It banned my home IP so I used a VPN to log in, I actually don't knew how to un b an myself. The password lockout ban should expire in 24 hours though.

PMX died during Covid. I don't think they ever came back. They scheduled something but I don't think they ever came back. 2020 was online. 2021 was scheduled but unsure if it actually happened.

AX is big and corporate. Its like an Anime SDCC. Anime LA has the old AnimeExpo community-focused vibes.
LA Comic-Con turned into a dump after Stan Lee died. Its a big swap meet now with low quality guests, vendors, and programming.

UTAU.wiki 3.0
I actually meant to move us to MediaWiki and reserved our Mirehenze URL but I got into a little rabbit hole, experimented with self-hosting, decided, I didn't like it, and never really circled around to the Merehenze idea.
If anyone who knows MediaWiki wants to collaborate...

When I explained what Vocaloid was in 2014 my views on Vocaloid had evolved a lot further. Vocaloid was not just software, yes software by Yamaha was one part, but it was also collaboration, a community, people, and something that is just not audio, but that had a visual element just as important.

That time in 2012 when I tried to explain what Vocaloid was to normies on Kickstarter. We crowdfunded a physical Vocaloid album and we didn't know how much of the audience would be KS music fans or people already familiar with Vocaloid so we went broad strokes / normie. First Vocaloid Kickstarter?

We used to watch anime on one of the school CRT TVs on one of the school's mobile media carts. Also, LMAO at one of our members probably unironically wearing a fedora. This photo dates itself so badly.

Ahhhhh.. We blocked one another. I think we might have had some Twitter history together though I am not sure what would have lead to a mutual blocking. It must have been drama from ages ago. I was a bit of a little shit and stirred up drama early in my VocaSynth life. Banned multiple times from VO.

Does anyone have any footage of that one-time EmpathP did a lesser-known synth / UTAU anime con concert?
I had been to one of her Vocaloid ones, I never got to see the UTAU one beyond the demo she made of my UTAU before we got his stage debut. No longer have the demo. Sad I didn't get to see it.

My UTAU actually appeared in concert once!
As her final after being harassed off the internet Aki did a double concert. One was with the Vocaloid, the 2nd was with lesser-known synth and UTAU. I wish footage exists of it. Discord doesn't "My Received Files" so I don't have the demo anymore.

In comparison to AnimeCoji in 2019 where I also helped setup and teardown their "screen". Our mosquito net screen vs the professional OffKai setup above where they wouldn't let you touch the silver cloth without gloves. Super-duper DIY but much easier for Aki to fly with vs an expensive rental.

I classic ALA fashion I also bribed people to participate. You got the Hatsune Miku "Wish I Was Hatsune Miku" ribbon for attending. You only got the "Singing Robot School Grad" if you participated in my panel by sounding out phonemes with me.

Lesson for potential panelists. Don't be afraid to stack the deck. No one wants to be the first to participate, but if you invite friends and rig your audience, the rest of the crowd is more likely to participate when they see someone else doing it. Having 20+ people make UTAU vowels was hilarious.

I did end up presenting an abridged version of the panel at ALA 2017 but I never got the live OTO. Instead, we had our audience "repeat after me" as we sounded a reclist / phonemes live on stage then had the audience repeat. In order to not complete flop I invited friends to be audience plants.

Except OffKair & OshiSpark rented a $15,000 projector with $8,000 short-throw lens to put on this concert.
Back in 2012 we were using whatever consumer grade projectors we could get our hands on and our very first "screen" was actually a really fine mosquito netting! Was very DIY lmao~
