After the ceasefire in #Gaza, a silent killer remains - thousands of tonnes of unexploded bombs are buried deep in the wreckage of homes, hospitals, schools and streets. Thank you to Greg Crowther from @minesadvisorygroup.bsky.social for speaking with me.
My latest for @metro.co.uk
While much of the UK press is busy trying to incite racial violence, freesheet Metro is publishing climate coverage from frontline nations.
Really appreciate it Dave!
Mr Kuleba's warning may be easily interpreted as warmongering, but it comes from Ukraine's own mistake in not trusting Putin's imperialistic ambitions.
He told me: 'I look around in Europe and I just see the same pattern happening. The same pattern of behaviour.'
3) Europe is repeating Ukraine's mistake
Before Russia invaded, even Ukrainians didnβt believe a war of such scale would happen.
Mr Kuleba says he sees the same denial now spreading across Europe.
2) Putin is preparing for a bigger war - and fast
β« 160,000 men enlisted since April 1 - the biggest military call-up since 2011
β« 500 drones manufactured per day - this is Russia's goal, according to Ukraine
Dmytro Kuleba
1) Nato's survival depends on public will - not just weapons
Kuleba warns that Vladimir Putin is not just testing military strength - but whether Europeans are truly willing to fight for allies like Finland or Poland.
He said: 'Who is going to tell UK voters that the threat of the war is real?β
'British mothers must accept their sons could die for Nato'
Here are 3 things that you need to know from my exclusive interview with Ukraine's former foreign minister, Dmytro Kuleba, for @metro.co.uk π§΅π
This was a really difficult watch. Many European leaders have come out in support of #Zelensky in the last hour, but it all feels a little too late.
The scale is unprecedented:
βοΈ 1,500 military vehicles
βοΈ 20+ aircraft
π’ 17 naval assets
Just miles from #Ukraine & #Moldova, 10,000 troops from 9 nations - 2,500 from the UK - are training for a possible Russian invasion.
This is the first major deployment of NATOβs Allied Reaction Force (ARF), designed to defend the allianceβs eastern flank.
Fighter jets streak over frozen fields. Tanks grind into the earth. Trenches fill with troops locked in combat.
I travelled to SmΓ’rdan, eastern #Romania, for #SteadfastDart2025. This is NATOβs most intense war drill this year. π§΅

I spoke with Mouiad Alnofaly, @thehalotrust.bsky.social
operations manager in Syria for @metro.co.uk
His team consists of only 40 deminers. He says that at least 400 more are needed to clear Syria, otherwise the operation will take decades.
Bashar Al-Assadβs fall was meant to be a turning point for #Syria. Instead, people returning to their war-torn homes face a deadly threat - landmines. Just last week, at least 47 civilians - many of them children - were killed by hidden explosives.
